I've been so very busy here of late,
just trying to stay ahead of trouble, that I didn't post anything inspiring to celebrate my one year surgeriversary... and now here I am 13 months out!  Back when I was a DS wannabe, seeing everyone's success posts and those before and after pictures really gave me total confidence to DS.  Because of all that I learned from those of you who DSed before me,  my journey has been simple and sweet and full of cookies.
yeah2I love, Love, LOVE! my DS.
So, for those of you who haven't yet DSed, here's some (blurry) after (so far) pics of me, down 122.5 lubs in my size 10 Levis, 32DDD bra, lookin' forward to the next 50 years!

Carolyn LUVS NADS!!

Nov 12, 2007

NADS are: nadsflorence.jpg picture by leaannjohnson L-R: Ms. Batt, My mom (Ruth), Natt (FINALLY got a good pic of Natt not hiding behind everybody HA-HA!), Anna, Beth, me, Preuit (ain't he SKINNY!)

With VERY Special Guests: vipls.jpg picture by leaannjohnson CAROLYN! and tiny, little RNYer Amanda (some of you might know her from the boards as "ArtistMonday") Amanda was attending to research the DS for her S.O.;

and also in attendance was, Preuit's wannabe DSer co-worker, Laura: florence6.jpg image by leaannjohnson I was in TOP FORM having only had one small breakfast in preparation of showing off my eating abilities to these researchers. We dined at Ricatoni's Italian Restaurant in downtown Florence CLICK HERE FOR MENU W/PICS of their yummy entrees/desserts!  I heard some talk around the table about skipping pasta and such so there'd be room for dessert. Well, I had my pasta and my Tiramisu, too! So, to settle who was going to pay for these desserts, Carolyn and I had an arm wresting match! florence7.jpg picture by leaannjohnson

Well, Carolyn won the first match florence1.jpg picture by leaannjohnson cuz she cheated by starting before anybody said "GO!"

florence5.jpg picture by leaannjohnsonSo, I called a DO-OVER, and *I* won that one florence4.jpg picture by leaannjohnson

But I supposedly lifted my elbow or sumthin' so I was disqualified.....So, we just called it a DRAW!

OMG, what a freakin' blast we had! And look how amazing all the POST OPS look!: florence2.jpg picture by leaannjohnson

When the gathering was over, I had to peel Carolyn off my man: florence3.jpg picture by leaannjohnson cuz I had plans for just the two of us: for the rest of the day in Florence, AL. We had reservations to stay overnight for a mini romantic getaway! So, just the two of us headed over to The Renaissance Tower in Florence.http://www.shoalsinformation.com/images/renaissance-tower.jpgThe dining tables at the tower restaurant are on a conveyor thingy that rotates slowly around so you get a 360 view. We were too full to eat again so soon right after lunch so we sat on a couch and sipped pina coladas and watched the sunset. Then we went off to find our hotel and a place with 1 hr photo developing. By then I could eat again and we went to Outback. Then back to the room for a long hot bath, and then I changed into some sexy lingerie which I look halfway decent in now! YAY! There was free breakfast the next morning at the hotel. I just love these little excursions.

So, how was yawl's weekend?

Easy Mac N Cheese

Nov 07, 2007

I'm a lazy cook, so in the past when I've made mac n cheese I usually use the instant boxed stuff (yanno, boil the pasta, drain. Pour in the powdered cheese, butter and milk) for convenience. I just couldn't bear the standing over the sauce pan stirring and stirring over low heat the milk, butter, flour, cheese mixture, stirring and stirring (did I say STIRRING) constantly to keep it from curdling/sticking/lumping, and then pouring the mixture over the pasta into a casserole dish and placing in the over to bake. The box stuff was just so much easier. Then tonight I started thinking -- wonder what would happen if I just boil my own pasta (and in this case I can use Barilla's or Dreamfield's or whatever healthier or wholewheat pasta I choose) and then pour some condensed milk, butter and grated REAL CHEDDAR cheese into it just after draining it? Um, that's JUST as easy as the boxed stuff! AND so much healthier! It turned out great!! And was just as DELICIOUS as that long, drawn-out process I used to use to make Mac n Cheese from "scratch."

Geeze....maybe I'm DENSE, but I catch on eventually! LOL!

Qhema

My Dobe got killed on the road last night. Had her for seven years, rescued her from the dogpound when she was abandoned there by a breeder asshole that used her up then dumped her for dead when she was 6 years old. She lived a life of luxury for the seven years I had her to make up for her past abuse. I let her out to potty last night just like I've done a thousand times before. Usually she'll just go out about ten feet from the house and do her business and then come back to the front door and bark until somebody lets her back in. Last night she never barked to be let back in. sad smiley #335

ShitFuckPiss. I put her out right before I jumped in the shower, and then when I got out of the shower and she hadn't made David let her back in, I knew something was wrong. It was dark and I couldn't find a decent flashlight. We tried looking without a flashlight, and a little POS one we found. Then I got in my car and started looking around trying to use the headlights. No luck. Then we drove to the nearest store, Publix (me in my jammies and wet head) and bought some flashlights. Me, my daughter and David scoured the yard looking for her. I had a theory (because she'd had a stroke a year or more ago and it made her temporarily blind), that she'd had another stroke and was hiding in the bushes. We knocked on neighbor's doors. The way she had fallen down tucked around one of those concrete drainage ditches, it was difficult to see her (or were we just too blind to see what was right in front of our faces). We went to bed last night still having not found her! I slept fitfully for a few hours, the worst possible thoughts running through my head -- had she been kidnapped for pitbull bait? I decided to resume the search when it became daylight. I was out wandering about the road when the neighbor lady started to leave for work and spotted her. ShitFuckPiss. I'm just a zombie today. It just doesn't seem real.

Qhema came to me not liking people very much, and I don't blame her one bit. That's why I kept her instead of adopting her out. You just didn't mess with Qhema, she was a tough bitch that way. She pushed my 100 lb. German Shepherd around like he is the world's biggest wuss, and there is NO other dog that would get away with that! Yup, Qhema was special. If I come across another alpha bitch that don't take no shit, there's an opening here at my place for her.
