First day of the Sweet Potato Queens festivities.  This is the day everyone is arriving to the Hilton and gearing up for the partying to come.  I got in late, like 9:00.  My idea of gearing up was going to be having a long, hot bath and  going to bed early.  BabyCatcher and Dianne had other ideas.  They insisted I meet them in the lobby for "a drink."  Um, that turned into them forcing me over half a bottle of wine and taking advantage of my hubby!

First party on Friday was the BigAss Hat Luncheon at Bravo's Restaurant, the theme being, of course, wear a BIG ASS HAT. It is so much fun having all these girly dress-up parties. I would have no occasion to dress so over-the-top any other time. There was a buffet with steak and chicken skewers, sweet potato bisque, and sweet potato cheesecake. YUM! Why, they even had blue martinis to match my outfit!

To keep us well-liquored up, The Big Hat Luncheon was followed by a Margarita and Wine tasting party at The Everyday Gourmet shop. The Everyday Gourmet is a shop that sells everything you could ever want in the kitchen. They gave us free booze and snacks hoping to make us shop happy to purchase their wares.

Later that evening was the SPQ BALL at Hal and Mal's nightclub -- another occassion to don our sparkly duds and strut our DS STUFF! Yep, we were HOT TO TROT!

The Million Queen March St. Patrick's Day Parade is the MAIN EVENT of the SPQ festivities. It's an awesome good time seeing all the other Queens' costumes and having so many adoring fans line the streets just to watch us walk past! Men kept throwing beads on the ground for BabyCatcher to pick up for some reason, and even LadyDi and GoodKel got their SLUT on for the big day!
