The transformation begins......

After many appointments, much preparation and plenty of hope from my OH family, I finally got my surgery date! I love the ring to this...my...surgery date! I am so excited, anxious, and nervous at the same time. October 30, 2012 is the big day. I know it seems so far off to me, but I am thankful that things worked out the way that it did so that I have time to prepare. I am thankful to God for this opportunity and I look forward to my NEW life! Praise God for change.

The best is yet to come!!!!

Can't Stand the Wait or the Weight!

I am scheduled to see my surgeon on July 12, 2012 and I am soooooooooooo anxious. I am ready to get this party started. I wonder if I can have the psych eval done before my surgeon appointment? Well until then, life has been pretty normal...Just waiting for a change for me.

Taking on a different path...

This is my first actual post so bear with me. I am a young mother, wife, Health Care administrator, and obese woman. I have been on a weight gain journey for all of my life, but I have decided to switch gears and take a different route....weight loss. At this point, I have attended two WLS seminars (as required) in the last year. I have a formal referral to the surgeon, Dr. Brian Gluck and an appointment to have my first consult on July 12, 2012.

I have done alot of research and because of this, I am confident that the RNY or VSG are the best choices for my WL goals.
I weigh 284 according to the scales yesterday and I am 5"2, so my BMI number is reaching my height! I am a very beautiful person inside and out, but my goal is to be healthy and whole.

I have Blue Care Network insurance who has been very informative and helpful up until this point. I only hope that this is the case when my paperwork is submitted for surgery. If all goes well, I would like to have my surgery in September (late September 2012) so that by this time next year, my life will look very different.

I plan to post once per week, so please be kind to me as I open up about my journey....this is not easy!
