Yikes its been forever
on July 30, 2007 5:15 am
Well since I haven't posted in forever I guess I will update.  Exactly 3 weeks from today I will be going into surgery and starting my new life.  I am so excited and so ready to do this.  Although the next 3 weeks are going to be pretty busy thats ok.  Heres what I have coming up:  Tomorrow, 7/31 I have an appt with a pulmonologist - gotta make sure the old lungs are ok, then on 8/2 I have all my pre op and my one on one with Dr. Ali.  Then from 8/6 - 8/10 I am off to Vegas Baby.  Can  you say Party time.  I am using this trip as a big send off to my new beginning.

Then - on 8/11 ( Sat, 1:00 PM at Claimjumper in Long Beach Market Place) is my big "last lunch" being arranged by my awesome angels Patty and Shelley.  On 8/14 I have my final clearance appt with my PCP, on 8/15 I will go ot Orange Coast Mem hosp for IVC Filter placement.  I have to have this because of my previous history (5 yrs ago) of a bilateral Pulmonary Embolism.  This filter will block any potential blood clots from getting to my lungs.  Then, the big day AUGUST 20.  Of course in between all of these MANDATORY appts I have Nail appts, pedicure appts, hair appt, house cleaning to be done and vitamins and supplements to be bought.

Makes me tired thinking about it all.  Its ok, I can handle it.

I am really not nervous at this point, just excited.  I think I am MORE nervous about the filter than I am the actual surgery.  I just truly believe in my heart that I am going to breeze through the surgery (RNY) and have no problems.  I am so committed to working this tool that I know I am going to be a success.

What I really can't wait for is next year.  When we take out annual Vegas trip next August I FINALLY won't have to ask for the dreaded seat belt extension on the airplane and I won't freak out about having to walk around and make sure there are chairs to rest on.

Guess thats it for now.
