WOW!
on April 28, 2010 12:37 pm

Holy Moly...I reached my surgeon-appointed weight goal of 150 lbs today.  That is incredible.  I haven't weighed 150 since I was, like 17.  I don't want to get any lower than about 145, so I need to keep an eye on it and possibly look into getting some supplement ideas from my NUT if it gets too low.  I am very mindful about what I eat, but I am actually eating more often to help get in a few more calories...espeically now that I am jogging/running, the extra calories are actually good.  I have never been able to tweak my intake/excercise like I am now.  I can weigh on Wednesdays, and if I haven't lost anything, I up the excercise a bit and am a bit more careful with calories.  If I've lost more than I want, then I slow down a bit on the excercise and take it a little easy, and try to get in a couple of snacks to get some more calories.  It's amazing the amount of control this tool has given me.  And I'm a control freak, so I'm lovin it!!! ;P  Today is a proud day for me :)

Enjoying Jogging
on April 14, 2010 7:10 pm
I have found that I enjoy jogging.  Me.  Jogging.  Unbelievable.  I am going to be walking/jogging in the March of Dimes March for Babies this Saturday.  I am raising money to support healthy babies being born all across the country.  If you can help, even just a little bit, I would really appreciate it :)  Take a look @ my page....  www.marchforbabies.org/leo99blue  ...and show your support.

No longer "overweight"
on March 24, 2010 9:36 am
Holy Crap!
Today my BMI is below 24.9, which means I am officially at a healthy weight.  This is such a huge milestone in my life.  I haven't been at a healthy weight in over 10 years.  Today is a great day!

A milestone
on December 8, 2009 1:56 pm
Hello!  Just a quick note to say how happy I was to go to Six Flags with my family for Holiday in the Park this past Sunday.  The last time I went there I had a very hard time fitting in the roller coasters, and one I could not ride because I was too big.  I remember feeling so embarrassed I thought I would never go back.  Well, we went a few days ago, and I had no problems getting into the seats on any ride!!!  It felt so good to reach a point where I can do something I enjoy doing again.  Yay!!

My Story

Hi.  My name is Jill.  I am 28 years old, and I live in Ft. Worth, Texas.  I am married to the most wonderful man, Daniel.  We have a dog, Zoey, and two cats, Gizmo and Rylee.  We don't have any (human :P) children yet, but would like to within the next few years.  I have struggled with my weight for most of my life.  I love food, especially the worst kinds!  I have always had issues with overeating.  I have dieted and lost weight several times, only to fall off the wagon and back into old habits again. I reached my heaviest weight of 344 lbs in August 2008.  I never thought I would actually persue weight loss surgery, in fact I used to be "against" it.  I always thought, 'if I can't lose it naturally, then I'm meant to be this way'.    I have learned, though, that it is okay to seek help, that I am not the only one out there that is like this.  I decided to persue weight loss surgery in December of 2008.  I went to an orientation with Dr. Gregory Barnes, and learned so much about surgery options and my own health.  I decided RNY would be the best option for me.  After several months of preparation, I had my surgery August 5, 2009.
