Surgeon Testimonial
When I first met Dr. Marvin, I thought he was very young looking. But I was very please with how he ran his company. His staff was very nice and helpful. I never had any problems from them. They tried very hard to get everyone approval as fast as they could. I was very please with how the office was ran. Dr. Marvin and his staff was very up front with everything that you need to know far as the surgery and everything you would need after it. I would give Dr. Marvin and his staff a High 10! I was very please with them. Me and my husband are doing great since the surgery and I would tell any one to have it and by Dr. Marvin and his staff.

30 POST-OP
October 15, 2008 Hello WLS Family, It’s been a well since I last updated my site. Well a lot has been going on. My Husband and I has finally went on our 7-Day Cruise (Sept. 21 -28, 2008) and we had a blast. I put pictures on both of our picture slide. We had so much fun that we decide to book another cruise for next year going to the Bahamas Sept. 20th, 2009 and we can’t wait. Well I have some news to tell you guys…my mother has been approved to have the WLS. She has done all her test and now she is waiting for her date. I’m so happy for her and I have faith that she will be as successful as me and my husband was. We are going to guide her all the way though. I was sitting at home the other day and think about the very beginning when my husband and I started our process and all we had to go through to get where we are today. On November 8, 2008, it will be 3 years for my husband and on March 30th, 2009 it will be 3 years for me. Man, time has truly flown by and we both have lost over 150 lbs each. What a blessing. J Well my current weight is 220 lbs. I’m up and down on the weight only because I’m not working out like I use to and I really need to get back to doing something because Lord knows I don’t want to go back to the 380’s. I love the way I look and I love to be able to shop at the regular stores. My Ten Year Class Reunion is coming up April 2009 and I want to at least be down to 160 lbs and plus me and my husband both sign up for Chevron Houston ½ Marathon and we both need to get ready for that. There is so much going on in my world at this time, but I wanted to drop you guys a few line. Well Stay Blessed WLS Family Letecia Henry
25 POST-OP
April 9, 2008 Hello WLS Family, My 2 Yr Anniversary Journey!!! Just wanted to give you guys a quick update on my 2 yr Post-Op doctor visit. Well my current weight was 218.5 lbs. I was so happy, that mean I have lose a total if 162 lbs in 2 year. That’s so crazy!!!! :-} I have lost a normal person size. I was so happy when they told me that I really wanted to just cry. My husband also went for his 2 yr post op visit and his current weight is 224 lbs. He really wasn’t to happy with his number, but once they told him that he lost a total of 185 lbs. in 2 years he got happy. My husband and I have lost a total of 347 lbs together. I’m not going to even ask you guys if you know what I mean, because I know some of you know what I’m talking about and the rest will soon know. This surgery has really changed me and my husband lives and we are so thankful. I got some great news. One of my co-workers gave me some clothes when I first start losing weight. Some of them where 12’s/14’s/16’s and there were several pieces that I really like, but just couldn’t wear at that time. So I put them in the back of my closet and one day I would be able to fit them. Well that day has come, I was able to put on the 12’s and 14’s and of course I can wear the 16’s and some I can’t wear any more. I never guess I would be able to wear that size. I just hit the floor. I was so happy all I could do is cry like a baby (these tear are HAPPY TEARS). Just being able to put on some clothes those sizes (12’s/14’s) I can’t even remember every wearing a size 12/14. That gave me this drive to want to get really serious and focus to reach my goal by September. I came from a size 28/30 to a 12/14 and of course some 16’s has really made my day. Every Tuesday I watch the Biggest Loser Couples and seeing those people the size I use to be and hearing their story and has made me realizes that I wasn’t alone. We all went though the same issues with our weight and how we had to deal with it, I know this website is just the same, but hear and reading is two totally different things to me and they have really open my eyes to see we all are not alone. I just want to tell my story so people can truly hear what I know see. I’m sorry if I’m talking crazy. I have so many feeling that I just want to get out and just finally able to get them out. After the doctor visit me and my husband went to eat and we was talking about how I have change for the better and I told him that I really never knew this person that I have become. I can’t understand how I let myself keep treating me the way I did. I never like to be in the spot light and was always shy and afraid to be the real me. And he helps me really understand what he and everyone around me seen in myself. WLS Family please enjoys your new life, because I’m just really starting to truly understand what people mean when they say that. And every day I tried my best to really enjoy every bit of it now. There is so much I can do now that I never been able to do. I get comments everyday about how good I look where as two years ago people never really spoke to me about how I look. They just give you this look and you already knew what that meant. J Here’s the fat lady move out the way. I’m going to talk to you guys later. Stay Blessed WLS Family Letecia Henry

My Story
WELCOME TO MY WSL STORY
Hi, my name is Letecia Henry. I am 25 yrs old and I have been overweight most of my life. I can remember being in the 5th grade and being the biggest and tallest student in the whole school. That was one of my sad moments in my life. For that year in my life until now I have been very unhappy. I just got married to a wonderful man and we have no children at this time. My husband (Joel Henry) is my world and if it wasn’t for him I may not have had the WSL for many reasons. How I found out about the Weight Loss Surgery was because of my sister-in-law and one day I was driving home and I saw this sign and it was about WSL. I call the number and set me and my husband an appointment. We went to the session and that’s how I meet Dr. Marvin and his staff. My husband and I were so please about the session. We talk it over and started to do all the important steps to get us approve. My husband was approved first. His surgery was set for November 8, 2005. Everything went really well for him.
I had to wait until the first of the year to be added to his insurance. As we waited, something happen to me and my family that had changed my plans. My baby sister died in a house fire two days after Christmas (December 27, 2005). My world came crashing down and I was at a point in my life that I wasn’t sure if I wanted or could go though the WSL. My sister and I were close and we had talked about the WSL and we had even made plan to do different things after I had the WSL. As all these things was going on in my life, I was add to my husband insurance January 1, 2006 all I need to do was wait for the insurance card to come. I went back and forward on what I should do about the WSL and one day it came to me that my sister would have wanted me to go forward with the WSL and I felt like I couldn’t let her down. Rachel N. Lynch (my baby sister) would be my Sunshine when I feel the rain coming down. So I went ahead and call the doctor and inform them to go ahead and submit my paperwork........
I GOT APPROVE!! I GOT APPROVE!! I GOT APPROVE!! I GOT APPROVE!! I GOT APPROVE!! I GOT APPROVE ON JANUARY 24, 2006. I was a little scared waiting on a reply from my insurance. But I'm glad I got approve and now I'm ready to move forward....
I started my Pre-Op on Feb 7, 2006. I do my History/Education on Feb 22 & 23, 2006. And then I have my surgery on Feb 28, 2006, I am so excited/nervous/anxious/scared all rolled in one, but I am so happy that soon I will be able to have more energy and buy smaller clothes. I am so scared though but I really do have a good feeling about the whole thing. The good thing about the whole things is that my husband just had surgery on Nov. 8, 2005 and his surgery help prepare me for this. I was really happy that I was able to be there for him. And I know he would do the same for me. I will post again soon...
