The most important question to ask on the job is 'What am I becoming?'"You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true. Face the truth." ~ Katherine Mansfield "Too often we are scared. Scared of what we might not be able to do. Scared of what people might think if we tried. We let fears stand in the way of our hopes. There's really no time to be afraid. JUST DO IT." ~ Nike advertising campaign "I am convinced that attitude is the key to success or failure in almost any of life's endeavors. Your attitude - your perspective, your outlook, how you feel about yourself, how you feel about other people - determines your priorities, your actions, your values. Your attitude determines how you interact with other people and how you interact with yourself." ~ Carolyn Warner "Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives." ~ Author Unknown "It's never too late to be what you might have been." ~ George Eliot "For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it." ~ Author Unknown "Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to the end, requires some of the same courage which a soldier needs." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson A wish changes NOTHING; A decision, changes EVERYTHING "So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable." Still maintaining
on November 17, 2007 8:50 am
I have done pretty good with sticking between 150-155lbs  for the past 6 months or so.  I was actually down hovering at 148-150  right about the time I quit smoking in August....but I put on a couple of pounds that first month or two after I quit.  I am finally feeling remotivated to get my butt in gear and try to get back under 150!   I think I just settled here to work on maintainence because I was burned out and tired of worrying about protein, water, calories, etc...

I am thinking about scheduling a fill.  The fact that I can easily eat reheated chicken, bread, and eggs tells me I could probably use a tiny tweak on my fill right now.  I am 1.5ccs which has obviously been enough for maintaining, but I think a .2 or .4cc fill would be a huge help if decide to try to knock off this last 10lbs.

Ha ha ha! Broke my stall
on July 9, 2007 8:38 am

I have seen 150, 151, and 151 on the scale the last 3 days!  I am taking the 151lbs......but I think I might actually hit 150 soon.  The extra effort this week has paid off.

Frustrated and stalled
on July 6, 2007 7:47 am
Would it be too much to ask my scale to budge, lol.  I have been stuck between 151-154 for months and months.  Gained a few in April with my unfill, lost them after I was refilled in May....and am just right back hovering around 152.  I know it is ME and not the scales, I need to tweak the calories down a bit and up the exercise up a bit.....it is just doing it that I am struggling with.

June 2007
on June 10, 2007 7:33 am

I was writing a reply to someone this morning that got me thinking about the difference in my health since banding.  Some people are overweight but still healthy.  I was not one of them.  My body told me in every possible way that it couldnt handle the extra weight on it.  It is odd that with a BMI of just under 40 I was considered a "lower BMI", yet had so many weight related issues.  At 38 years old I was getting edema in my ankles like an old woman, developed high blood pressure, developed Insulin Resistance, high cholesterol, had knee/back/foot pain.  Taking Benicar, Metformin, and a statin........Physically miserable.

I feel like I saved my life, as corny and trite as that sounds!  It  is so easy to focus on the number on the scale, or "fitting into size whatever jeans".....but that isnt the only measure of success with the band.  Dont get me wrong, I am really wanting to get off another 10ish lbs (and fit into a size 8, lol) but I am so grateful to feel HEALTHY and normal again, which was my original reason for having the surgery!
