My Story Hello to everyone who visits my page! I recently was diagnosed with Fatty Liver after a chance liver test showed high liver enzymes. I have battled with my weight since jr. high, using every fad and yo-yo diet out there. I am 1st generation Portuguese American, which leads much of my family and friends to shrug off the weight problems saying it's because of my heritage. I don't buy it. I'm excited about the surgery, and although am still in the early stages of the process, can not wait until the day is finally here. I am 4'10" and at last weigh in, was just over 210 pds with a BMI of 43. I'm tired of my back hurting, my hips and knees aching. I went to Disneyland in July and pushed myself so hard that by the end of the night, my ankles were bruised and swollen and I couldn't walk! Well, here's to the start of a terrific journey, and a new and healthier me! I look forward to hearing from many of you and building friendships along the way. Renee |
