I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers this week as you go for surgery. Try not to get frustrated with fluid and food intake those first few days. Focus on your water! I'll say a prayer for a smooth, uneventful surgery and a rapid recovery! Can't wait to welcome you to the loser's bench! We're saving you a seat and we're only a PM away when you need help or support! "Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil." ~ James Allen Hugs, Lea

Tuesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

Hello everyone, come on in and read my story. It's been an amazing adventure and it's not over yet. It's so exciting to think that after trying every imaginable diet, pill, patch, and pilates(and don't even get me started on the exercise equipment, and gym memberships), that something will actually work.

Well I never had my tummy tuck or anything else, can't afford it. But I am still grateful to be small and really, I don't look too bad. Maybe someday I'll get the tummy tuck but if not, oh well. I currently weigh 135lbs, my lowest weight was 127 but everyone said I was too skinny. I'm comfortable with my weight now I stay between 130-135 with no trouble at all. I eat about 1-1.5 cup of food at a time about 2-3 times a day, but I really don't keep track of it or even think about it. I only weigh myself occasionally. It's good not to have to think about it. Good luck to all where ever you are on your journey.

Sorry it's been so long since I blogged, time flys when your living good. I have lost 127 lbs. I went from a size 22 to a size 2. I haven't had any problems at all, and I feel amazing. Thank God and Dr. V. I'm going to try to post some pictures. My only wish now is for a tummy tuck.

Hey, for anyone who's following my progress, sorry I haven't posted in awhile.  With my new job I don't have much free time, but i really enjoy it.  I'm goiong to post some recent pic's as soon as I get some. but I'm still losing. I thought I had almost stopped but I'm still losing 4-5 lbs a month. My dr. really doesn't want me to lose any more, but I think I could stand to lose a little more. I'm 5'5'' and weight 155 lbs, although people guess my weight to be around 120 - 130. I've lost 112 lbs and about 70 inches. I wear a size 8-9 in jeans and small-med tops. My scrubs use to be a size 2X and now I wear a small. I really would like to have a tummy tuck and a thigh lift but my dr. says to wait for at least 3 months after I've stopped losing weight, and he said I really should wait for a year after cause my skin will shrink back some and I may not need it, but I just don't see that happening. With my clothes on you can't tell, but naked you really can. I'll post again later.

Hey I've been busy graduating and stuff so please excuse me. I've platued (sp?) at 177-180. I keep fluctuating those three pounds since the first of May, 3-4 weeks now. I think it's because I weighted 180 for years before I gained up to 267. We'll see how things go but I think I need to start exercising or something to jump start my weight loss back up. Healthy regards to all.Tonya

My Story

3-21-07

Hi my name is Tonya, I am 34 y/o, happily married with 5 children (4 of which are teenagers). I have been a certified nursing asst. working with mostly elderly people for  14 yrs. I've been in college for the last three years and I  graduate with an associates degree in nursing next year (I'll be an RN).  I have always been "big boned" and have been over 200 lbs most of my adult life, I have gained 50 lbs in the last 7 yrs (30 of which just within the last 6 mos.) and I 'm bigger than I have ever been. I suffer from severe obstructive sleep-apnea and I 've been trying to wear a CPAP device for over three yrs now without any success. Sometimes I feel like I'm smothering. I stay tired alot and my joints ache.  I won't say exactly how much I weight right now, cause my husband might read this, but my BMI is 42 and you can see my pic.  I am suppose to be having my surgery (RNY) this coming June (over summer break). I have been looking at all of the before and after photos, they give me hope and sometimes they make me cry, it's really hard to believe in something when you've tried so many things before, but I look forward to finding out. Thanks for listening.
