The unfaithful blogger Hmm - it seems it's been a really long time since I've written anything here. Not much to report. I've been in the stall from hell for a long time (about two and a half months total) but the scale has finally started to budge again. I'm down nearly 80 pounds. I have had faith that this is going to work out and I haven't been freaking out about the stall, but I have to admit that some times it is depressing, I have been doing my best to follow my doctor's orders. I'm very good about my supplements and my water. I occasionally allow a few too many carbs to creep into my diet, but by and large they are unrefined carbs. I try to get all my protein from food, but occasionally have a protein drink. I exercise a lot. I walk about 5 miles a day. I work out with light weights, and exercise ball (physical therapy for my bad back), and of course, I push that quilting machine around a lot.
I've been very busy quilting, I got a raise at work, I bought a new car, life is good. I'd still like to lose another 30-40 pounds, but I'd have to say if I never lost another pound, life would still be great.
I'm off to a major quilt show in a week. I have the house and cat sitter all lined up, now if the yard service would only call me back, I'd get the lawn taken care of too.

Hi Linda,
I've seen such great comments you've left on the main forum, so compassionate and educated, I just had to read you blog and learn more about you. I love your attitude and honest approach to yourself. I also love reading your progress. I can really relate to much of what you've said, I too, let a few too many carbs creep into my diet, making the weight loss a slower progress but it's probably realistic to eat as "normal" as possible from the get go. My past mistakes included being too strict with the diet, then totally fallling off the wagon, so this time around I'm trying to find a mid-way point that I can live with. Reading comments and queries on the main forum really make you question how well you're doing compared to others though :) Your quilts are beautiful, I too am a crafter - painting and needlepunch being my biggest loves. I also spread my time with being a Kindergarten aide and keeping up with 3 "kids" in their late teens/early adulthood, a dog, cat and a house constantly screaming for attention. I had RNY surgery on 1/8/08 and really thing it saved my life also, my emotional life anyway. I'm so greatful for my surgery, and it's been easy compared to some, although it hasn't been a total breeze as my stomach never seems to be totally satisfied - (maybe it's just my head) either still hungry, bloated, gassy, uncomfortable or just wanting more. Most times I wish I just didn't have to eat at all - so I wouldn't feel like I'm making the wrong choices all the time. Anyway - I've lost almost 70 pounds and feel fabulous physically and when I look in my closet severy morning. Such fun to be able to wear regular clothes and be happy to look in the mirror. I never thought it would be possible! I too have a really bad back, limiting my exercise, and it never improved from the weight loss. Sooner or later I'd like to see a surgeon to straighten me out and get the pressure off those nerves but my primary care keeps putting it off. Don't think Percoset is great for ya as a daily diet though......Anyway - nice to meet you, keep up the good work :)
