I am 36, married and have three beautful children ages 4, 6 and 12. I have been overweight for 8 years now and have tried every diet out there. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had to have a complete thyroidectomy, soon after I gained 100 lbs. I became so tired of attempting diets to only lose 20 to 30 lbs and then gain back more. I knew weight loss surgery was drastic but I wanted to take back my life and I believe this was what I had to do. i know that it was a blessing to be able to have the surgery.
There are so many thingd i want to do:
1. Go into a store and by my clothes off the rack and know it will look good.
2. Play with my kids with out feeling exhausted.
3. Feel good to go out with my hubby and not get depressed because I have nothing to wear.

and soooooo on...

I am excited because I know my life is coming back...

Wow, it has been nearly a year and a half since my GBS. So much has happened: I completed my bachelor's degree, started my master's degree, I am now working on a book and founding a non-profit for youth empowerment. God is so good!!! My life is full and I am blessed!! Thank you Jesus!

I am now down 121 lbs. I could have been farther but I decided to relax a bit over the holidays and maintained at a loss of 101 lbs for about 2-3 months. I really enjoyed myself and then on my birthday in Jnauary I decided to hit hard again and have lost 20 lbs and a couple of sizes. I am so excited as I am now in an 8/10 clothes. It has been feeling really good to go into any store and find something nice to wear. I have never felt better and really enjoyed being able to have some very tasteful boudiou photos taken for my hubby's 40th birthday. When I saw them I could not believe it was me. I must give all Glory to God becuae I know I could not have traveled this journey alone and without His help.

Weight loss seems to be slowing down.

Last Wednesday I weighed in at 252 and I have only lost 4 lbs since then. I weighed in today at 248. I am a little discouraged especially since I have been losing round 7-8 lbs a week. I hope this is normal. I didn't have a bowel movement for over a week, maybe this is why I didn't lose as much weight as I had in the previous weeks.

I had to start a high protein diet 2 weeks prior to my surgery (RNY) I lost 17 lbs. It has now been 2 weeks and 2. days sonce my surgery and I have lost 34 lbs total. I feel great and started taking my vitamins today. My new goal now is to lose 40 ibs over the next 6 weeks for my college graduation ceremony. This will put me at 212 lbs and approximately a size 16. I am currently 252 and a size 20.
