Surgeon Testimonial

Erik Simchuk
Dr. Simchuck is a soft spoken caring Dr. I am so glad I chose him to perform my surgery. There is nothing that i can say negative about him or his staff. I would do this surgery again with Dr. simchuck in a heartbeat. I had 0 complications and at 3 weeks out I feel very good.

7 1/2 months out and Pregnant!
on November 28, 2009 2:42 pm
Well I had to take a pregnancy test today because i was a week or so overdue and I just had a hunch. SURPRISE pregnant with #4. I have very mixed emotions . I am between wanting to cry and being excited. I am  no where near where i want to be weight wise. Although I am still dropping at a steady pace. I guess i just have to look at it as the way it was meant to be. I am probably only 5 weeks  at the most, so it is still very early.  I told my mom and of course she was excited. But I don't want to tell too many people because it is soo early. Well I just wanted to blog about this and get it recorded so I can look back. I guess it is time to start going on the pregnancy after WLS forum.

7 months out and down 100lbs
on November 15, 2009 5:44 pm
Well here I am at 7 months out and i am down 101lbs since i started back in late february early march. I weighed in yesterday morning at 193. WOW is all I can say. My goal for Thanksgiving was 194 so I have done better than that . I haven't weighed this amount in about 12 years so it really does feel great. We took the kids over to the playground at the school a little while ago and I actually jogged 2 times around the track. I was a little winded but i probably could have jogged another lap or 2.I told my husband that the last time I actually jogged was about 20 years ago. I have also been getting ALOT of compliments about how good I look or how much weight i have lost. I guess that it is really starting to show now. I feel great and i am so glad I had this surgery. I do want to mention that i am scared of transfer addictions. My Dr. Ok'd me to drink wine if I wanted. But i find that i can drink 1/2 bottle and be pretty tipsy and then sober up pretty quick. I have made a promise to myself that i will only drink on special occasions or if me and the hubby go out for dinner. It's not like i am drinking every day right now. I will usually drink 1-2 nights on the weekends usually 2 glasses of wine in a night. I have read alot about transfer addictions especially alcohol. I know alot of drs want people to wait a year, but I did ask my dr and he said that if I wanted a drink I could have one. I am sure he didn't mean 3-4-5 drinks so i do try to keep that in mind. The holidays are coming and I am really not worried about the food, because I can't eat much and i can't eat anything with sugar.  My next goal is 180 by New Years. That is only 13 lbs. I know i can, I know i can, i know i can..........................

ONEDERLAND!!!!
on October 28, 2009 12:50 pm

ONEDERLAND IS FINALLY HERE!!!!!
I have been waiting and waiting and I felt sooo stuck in the 200-203lb range for the last few weeks. This morning 199.2 lbs. I was so excited i have told my mom and my husband and anyone else who i  thought would care. i have not weighed in the 100's since the late 90's. I feel so great and I am so happy that i got this surgery. I am down 95lbs, 5 more lbs to go to get to the 100lbs lost mark. All I can say for now is YAHOO!!!!! Also I reached my Halloween Goal of 199. Finally I actually reached a goal. Well enough for now I hope everyone is drinking their water and protein. I know for me that is what makes a big difference.

6 months out!!! 10-22-09
on October 22, 2009 9:14 am
Well here I am finally six months out. I had my 6 month check up with Dr. Simchuck. He said I was doing really good. Today I weigh 200. That is down 94 lbs since I started this journey. I cannot wait till I reach onederland!!! I get on the scale every morning and it feels like i am inching toward it but can't quite reach it. Hopefully tomorrow. I have not weighed under 200lbs since right after my  first son was born probably around 10-11 years ago. Wow that is a long time. I feel sad when I think about how long i have been so overweight and so unhappy. I can say i am so much happier now. I have always been the fattest one in a room and now I'm not, but alot of the time my mind still thinks I am. I am so glad I made this decision. Oh and by the way i had lab work done and all of my labs were in the normal range except my biotin and b-12 those were HIGH not low. According to my lab work I am very healthy. I have set my NEW YEARS goal at 180. I think that is realistic. I can eat alot more now than a couple of months ago, and I know that the weight loss will slow at this point but honestly I feel like i am doing better now than I was at 3 and 4 months out. I seem to be losing steady. I did have a couple of pound gain then stall last week , but now i am  back on track it seems. Well enough of my rambling. I hope this next month will be great for myself and any one else reading this blog. Remember water, protein, water, protein, ..........................................

5 1/2 months out
on September 30, 2009 7:17 pm
I had a mini wow moment today! I went to a doctor and they checked my blood pressure and did not have to use the big cuff, the drs asst. didnt even reach for it like they used to do.. the regular cuff fit just fine and didn'tsound like it was going to explode off. I weighed 205 this morning I have lost a total of 89lbs . I have 2 weeks to my 6 month check up and my goal is to be down to 200lbs by that appt. I have been walking around the track 2 miles 3-4 times a week. I actually had a girl tell me today that i have inspired her to start walking an try to be healthier. That made me feel good. Me and my mom are going to Reno this weekend for a girls weekend out at th Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. I received 2 night complimentary in the VIP suite on the top floor. I have never stayed in anything that nice before so this weekend should be really fun.
