Surgeon Testimonial

Paul Benn, M.D.
Dr. Benn rocks....he is so informative that after he got done talking I didn't even have a question...he he. He is so kind, and so smart!! The office staff is unbelievable!!! I so love Gina, she makes you feel like you are not alone is this, and Gretchen she is so so so nice...I also found out the Dr. Benn did my best friends adrenalectomy..so he will have seen both of us naked, and both of our insides...LOL

Well here it is July 11 and I have been home from the hospital for 3 days.

I had to be at the hospital at 5:15am....first we went and picked up my best friend Jenni, then off to the hospital.  I got called back to a room. I had to be at 251 for Dr. Benn to do my surgery, and I had no idea if I had lost any weight...so there I sit in the little room with just a gown on, all by myself, and what did I see??? yep, a scale!!  I very nervously stepped on the scale, really wanting to puke, 250!!!!!!!!  Whew I was relieved!!  Next the told me Fred could come back, I was so glad to see him.  I was moved to the pre-op room where they started and IV and I met with the anesthesiologist the nurse anesthesiologist and finally Dr. Benn.  I said good bye and I love you to Fred then was wheeled into surgery, I remember them telling me to just breath the oxygen, then poof I was in room 327 with Fred and Jenni.  I really was hurting and did not want to move a muscle, that morning at about 2am I kept pushing that little happy button...nothing.  I looked at my hand and it was HUGE, you could not even see my knuckles and I could not bend my fingers, my IV had infiltrated, so on to find a good vein in my other hand, remember I am now dehydrated...OH JOY!!  4 pokes later I had another IV, now the morphine worked.  The next day I was up walking, that hurt but I kept doing it.  I got a really bad headache...it sucked! The morphine would not even help!  Then my nurse Mary came in to find me sitting on the edge of my bed holding my head moaning that I was going to throw up.  God bless Zofran and IV morphine!  Slept fairly well that night, I think at least 6 hours which I really thought was a miracle!  Then next day was good, I went home.
