I go for my Pre-Admission Testing next Thursday at 8am. Apparently, it's an all day thing. From what I've been told, I'll be having an abdominal ultrasound, chest x-ray, upper gi, ekg, stress test, some bloodwork, and then will have to sit thru a "bariatric class". I'm not sure really what to expect from the class.

On May 1st, I have an appointment with the surgeon. I'm assuming this is a meet-and-greet to discuss the surgery. Then May 7th, I go in at 6am for the surgery at 8.

Funny thing is that the only thing I'm scared of in this whole process is the bloodwork. When I went in for my gallbladder exam last month, they stuck me 6 times trying to find a vein. It's the most awful thing having blood taken. Hopefully after I lose weight, my veins will be easier to find.

Susie, my consultant, called back this afternoon and gave me a surgery date of May 7th at 6am.  Woohooo!!!

I was hoping I'd hear something this morning and I did. I woke up and had a voicemail and an email asking me to call into the consultant's office. She said that she had a call from UHC today asking her when my surgery date was. She told them that she was waiting on an approval from them. :)  So, I'm approved and she's going to schedule a date and call me back here sometime today. Yay!!

Well, here it is at the end of another week and I haven't heard anything. My consultant said in her email that she was going to call again at the beginning of this week. If she did, she dien't relay the conversation to me, so I'm assuming they haven't decided if I'm approved or not. Today is Good Friday, so I'm not holding my breath about hearing back about it today. I'll check in with her Monday afternoon.
