Peace and blessings to all AMOS members. You are all like family to me. I have been lurking twice a day for months now and enjoy reading the posts. By the way, a few days before my surgery in January, I had to cancel because of the enormous pressure I was having from my family. They were scared that I was going to die and leave them behind. I have, however, done a lot of research and decided that this is the tool I need to lose weight and make my co-morbidities at least get better. I have educated them to the best of my ability and they are now on my side. I had another consult with my surgeon early in August and all the papers have been sent to the insurance company. I am praying that I get approved again because I very much regret my decision in cancelling the surgery. By now I would have been far gone with my weight loss. It has been a month since I saw him and I am still waiting. I have BCBS of Maryland.
I was diagnosed with diabetes three years ago and now have knee trouble which makes even walking as a form of exercise really hard. According to my surgeon's scale I now weigh 258lbs - an increase of 15lbs since January. I am still waiting.
