Surgeon TestimonialScott Fisher, M.D.I am scheduled to meet with Dr. Fisher on Thursday, November 2. He has performed WLS on three other people where I work so I will see if he does anything like a "buy 3, get 1 free" special! LOL, ok, not really, but when I told his coordinator that she laughed and told me I should. We'll see. I've heard wonderful things about him, and from his picture, I like him.
I will add an update after this week.
OK, here it is, January 14 and I haven't updated!
I like Dr. Fisher a lot. He's very down to earth, easy to talk to, answers all your questions, etc. I feel very comfortable and confident with him.
January 31, surgery was January 22.
Dr. Fisher came to see me each day after surgery. I felt that I was always in good hands with him.

Hi, I'm Liz from Colorado! Been a member here for a couple of years, am finally going through the process of getting ready for wls.
I feel as if I've been battling my weight since the day I left high school, but in the past decade I've, um, shall we say "blossomed".
Looking forward to a healthier life.
I'm feeling pretty darned good! on January 28, 2007 3:59 pm
It's Sunday, just 6 days out and I feel pretty good. Still tired, and I do feel bloated, but otherwise, not bad.
Been experimenting with the Magic Bullet, it's an amazing little thing! I made a chicken dish for the family last night, then put a tiny bit in it and in a few seconds I was enjoying it, too!
Can't wait to be able to eat more than 2T at a meal. I am not pushing it, I know that discipline with food is a big thing for me.

All set to go! Tomorrow is the day! on January 21, 2007 6:41 pm
Took the family out to Biaggi's for a nice dinner tonight. My surgeon does not have his patients do any liquid fasting unless they have a very enlarged liver. So, as of midnight, no eating or drinking.
I am amazed at how calm I am...I hope it lasts!
I asked my older daughter (19) to make a collage for me of pictures of nice clothes I had picked out of various magazines and catalogs. In the center is a Liz Claiborn ad that reads "LIZ IS". I had cut that out a month or two ago just because I liked it. Then the idea of the collage came to mind and it seemed to fit nicely as the center. I'll be bringing it to the hospital with me to have it in my room.
Surgery is at 9:45 AM. Expected discharge date is Thursday.
Thanks to EVERYONE on o-help for all the good wishes and prayers, they are very much appreciated!

My New Life Begins January 22, 2007! on January 14, 2007 9:58 am
That's my date. I'm very excited. I am greatful to have been given a second chance at a "normal" life.
My family is very supportive, my 19 year old daughter gave me a $100 Kohl's gift card for Christmas - I burst into tears when I opened it. Having her support, and that of my other two kids and hubby is important to me.
I'm also scared...can I do this...what if I can't...will I be hungry...will I puke...will I have regrets??? So many questions.
The support and information on this site is great. I feel as if I'm as prepared as I can be...the day of surgery I may decide I was totally out of my friggin' mind, but there is no looking back, only ahead.
I've rearranged kitchen cupboards and drawers, splurged on a set ot pewter measuring cups and spoons from Tin Woodsman, have a huge set of new Pampered Chef Executive cookware on its way here. I've bought beautiful padded hangers for my clothes that I'm going to grow DOWN into.
I have not told my mom I am doing this because I tried to last May and she didn't catch onto the concept, asking, "will you lose weight just in your stomach?" so I'll just let her see the results when she visits next May.
More to come!
