Surgeon Testimonial

Noel Williams, M.D.
Consult - rnHad my surgical consult on August 22nd. My experience with the Nurse Practitioner, Nutritionist as well as Dr Williams, was very nice. Everyone could not have been more attentive and genuine. I look forward to working with Dr. Williams and his staff during my WLS journey. rnrnHUP has a very structured pre & post surgical support system in place. rnrnI would like to have spent a little more time with Dr Williams, but he did answer all my questions and explain the surgery completely.rnrnThese are my personal opinions and first impressions.rnrnSurgery - rnrnSaw Dr Williams a few weeks before my surgery in passing at the hospital and we spoke a for a minute. Otherwise I would not have seen him again until I was just about to go into the operating room. I think this is pretty standard procedure for all surgeons. He was very warm and comforting to me as we spoke prior to surgery. I felt very confident. The anethesiologist spent ALOT of time with me just prior to surgery answering every question I had and making sure I felt comfortable with everything that was going to happen. I really appreciated that. Dr. Williams came to see me the next day and spent a few minutes as he was making his rounds. I feel my surgery couldn't have gone any better. rnrnI would highly recommend him as a surgeon.

Step 2
on August 25, 2007 8:05 pm
I went for my consult on August 22nd. I met with the Nurse Practitioner, (for the physical) Nutritionist (brief counseling), and the Surgeon, Dr. Noel Williams. My insurance requires 6 months of documented weight loss effort and I discussed with my PCP in May at my physical about the LapBand. I am not sure if the insurance will count that or if they will start from my appointment with him in August even though I have been working on it since July. I will get the additional notes from his office when I pick up my referrals on Monday and send them to HUP. Dr Williams said we would try to get it documented from May and that would put us at the end of November to get approval & a possible surgery date of Dec/Jan if that doesn't work we are looking at the end of January for approval and a possible surgery date of Feb/Mar.

After meeting with the Nurse Practitioner she told me what tests I had to schedule and  within all the information she gave me were the phone numbers of the clinics and the prescriptions. So I made use of the down time while I was waiting for the Nutritionist & Dr Williams to come I called and made all my  appointments for the Sleep test, Upper GI, Chest X-ray, EKG, Pulmonary Evaluation & the Psych Eval.  I will have all my pre-op testing completed by mid October.

The Beginning
on August 5, 2007 7:58 pm
Well here goes. I went to my third informational seminar on August 2nd. This one is it. This Dr and hospital are both covered by my insurance. I have an appt on August 22nd for my Surgical Consult with Dr Noel Williams. This will be a 3-4 hour appt. I am looking forward to this next step - it took about 6 weeks to get into this infomational seminar which as all of you know who may be reading this is the mandatory first step. Well step 1 complete - here's looking forward to step 2!!
