Surgeon Testimonial

Peter O'Brien, M.D.
I have had all good experiences with Dr. O'Brien. His staff does an excellent job in communicating and keeping you abreast of new changes and circumstances. Everyone that I have had to deal with has been very polite and helpful.rnDr. O'Brien does stress the importance of aftercare, his whole staff does. They want you to realize that this isn't a cure-all and that you have to put in your share of the work also. They have a support group that meets once a month to help you along, and while I haven't gone to a meeting yet, I plan on attending them after I have my surgery done.rnI would have to say his surgical competence is better than his bedside manner, but I have had doctors with worse bedside manner and I wouldn't say his is awful by any means. He is shorter in his bedside manner than some doctors, but if you have questions he answers them and doesn't make you feel inferior.rnI encourage anybody else thinking of this surgery to give Dr. O'Brien a visit, I don't think they will be disappointed. :)rnrnI was just banded this week and I have to say that Dr. O'Brien is a WONDERFUL surgeon. He keeps up on his patients so VERY well, and was at my bedside multiple times throughout the day. He really astounded me with how often he was checking on me. He is a great surgeon with excellent follow-up. I HIGHLY recommend!! :0)

Wednesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. Six months out already!!
on November 13, 2007 12:08 pm
I can not believe how fast time has gone!! It seems like I was just waiting for my surgery date to roll around and already I'm six months out. I just had my fourth fill last week and am now at 6cc's in my 10cc band. I have a lot of restriction with this fill, and it's really making me slow down and chew chew chew chew chew chew chew :)
I have lost just about 30 pounds total since the beginning of my journey so I'm happy with the outcome thus far

My Story

Hi There!!! I started my journey in March, and everything went much smoother than I had anticipated. 2 weeks after my initial consult I was called by Dr. O'Briens office saying I had been approved and asking when I wanted to schedule my surgery. I decided to wait until May 9th as that way I would have finals and school out of the way and wouldn't have to worry about recovering in time to do my next clinical!! I am so excited to have my band placed and am hoping that it works well for me. Yesterday I had my class with the dietician and also had a scoping done to check if my reflux had caused any problems. Everything came back alright though so I'm still on for next week!!!!! My end goal is to get back down to where I was before having my three kids :0)
