Surgeon Testimonial

Fernando Bonanni, M.D.
Dr. Bonanni is the best. I recommend him highly. His office staff is very helpful, though they can get very busy at times. I give the entire program at Abington very high marks.

I just got tired of being "sick and tired" so I decided to go to Abington Memorial Hospital's Information Night on Bariatric Surgery.....

Good evening, how can I help you?
on December 13, 2008 5:49 pm

Again, it's been awhile since I've written anything.  I have been busy, busy, busy.  Never a dull moment here in Bucks County.

My sister had her surgery a month ago, and she's down 30 lbs. already.  I am very glad for her, and proud of her too.  It's a great decision I am sure she agrees with (even when she is not feeling well for whatever reason).  Still, my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

I can't believe that my one-year anniversary is coming up.  So many things have happened in that time.  Some good, some bad - all interesting.  I am hoping for good things to come in the future.

I got to see Triple H AND John Cena last Monday - that was a good, good day!

Please pull around.  Those of you who know me know what this means!

Finally, an update....
on November 5, 2008 6:57 pm

It has been quite a while since I wrote something, apparently.  It has been a very busy few months around this place.

Kevin started college and so far seems to be doing well.  We know he likes it by the amount of times he calls home - almost never!  He is having a great time and has NO homesickness whatsoever.  Michael's plugging along, cooking for all of his residents at Pine Run and Chris tried hard to get the student body at Holicong to go along with him and vote "McCain 08" but sadly, it didn't work.  Hopefully good things will come from Obama's election.

My sister is having her surgery in less than a week - I can't believe how fast the time went by.  Seemed like it was so far into the future and now it is here.  I am sure she is going to do great.

I'm working two jobs now - still part-time at Abington and I'm a Patient Safety Attendant at Doylestown.  Aside from the patient who tried to commit suicide right in front of me and the patient who assaulted me yesterday, I'm doing fine!  Seriously, the job is great - most of the time.  That's not to say that I'd drop it "like it's hot" if I hit the Lotto.

Five months from right now I WILL BE AT WRESTLEMANIA 25 - the Silver Anniversary.  Houston, here we come!  I can only hope the experience in Texas comes somewhere close to how wonderful Detroit and WM 23 was.

I'm crazy about Vishnu - please pull around.
Thank you.
Have a good day.

A month ago today...
on August 27, 2008 8:09 pm
...my Mom's been gone a month already.  Wow.  Time passed too quickly.  That, and the fact that we brought Kevin (little Kevin!) to school for his first year at Kutztown University - too many changes for this family in the past few weeks.  But he is happy, and seems to be doing well.

Today I had a good day.  Christine and I went thrift-store shopping (our favorite thing to do, next to attending WWE events), had lunch out and went to the Asian market to look for the proper rice to make sticky rice.  It was a great day out.

I've just had alot of things on my mind lately, wondering and thinking...

*   why is John Cena hurt AGAIN after having gone through an injury under a year ago?  I want him back -soon.  Raw is missing something without him and without HHH (thank God for Smackdown).

*   how can so many people cry and get so overly emotional at the Democratic Convention?  I would cry just for being so lucky to be in Denver (what a great city that is).

*   it boggles my mind how two little boys can call Dave Batista from the WWE "grandpa."  That man does not look like any kind of Grandpa to me.

*   I am so sad that "Pure in Heart" has less that 100 episodes remaining in it's 2nd showing on WYBE in Philadelphia.  And I can't see why it's not everyone's favorite Korean drama.  There is no couple better than Yang Gukhwa and Park Yunhu - they are MY Luke and Laura.

*   Why do people walk down the halls of Abington Memorial Hospital (and other public places) facing one way and looking the other?  And how they can't notice someone (me) coming towards them with a person on a stretcher is beyond me.

*   Why can't Dunkin' Donuts coffee be less expensive?  If it was, I'd have it many more times per day.  I had it twice today.  It's a habit I've got to stop.  But it's SO good.

That's all for now.

Sayings, sayings...
on August 16, 2008 6:44 pm
Not since I heard the saying "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened" have I liked a saying as much as what CM Punk said on Raw last Monday night.  He said "Sometimes, it's what you don't do that makes you who you are" and is that ever so true.

Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital once said "you don't judge a man by his failures, you judge him by his successes" and that's also a very good one.

One of my favorite lines of 2008 was said at Wrestlemania 24 in Florida.  Shawn Michaels said "I'm sorry, I love you" and booted Ric Flair right out of the WWE.  Now I know he's an icon to some people, but Christine and I were two of about 50 people out of 74,000+ people who were very happy to see HBK win that match.

Dr. Evil also has a lot of great lines (Scotty's on fire..how was space, space was cool).  And my favorite from a TV sitcom was said by the great Felix Unger.  He said "Never assume.  If you do, you could make an ASS out of U and ME."

Yeah, boyeee...Flava Flav.  He's a classic!

"Grandma was cool..."
on August 12, 2008 11:28 am
Bernice Gemmel, April 27, 1936 - July 27, 2008

So sad to report that Mom passed away.  She unfortunately went downhill very fast.  She struggled from Wednesday morning until Sunday afternoon.  Both my sister and I were with her, and she pretty much just went to sleep.  It was actually kind of peaceful, in a way.

We were with her around-the-clock.  All day Wednesday, then I went at 4 am on Thursday.  We were all there during Thursday, all the kids - even my cousin.  The nurses and staff at Doylestown Hospital took wonderful care of ALL of us.  My husband stayed the night Thursday, my sister stayed Friday, and I stayed Saturday.  I was on the computer, talking to her, watching wrestling - making things seem as normal as possible.  Only she couldn't respond.

I'll miss her every day of my life - we all will.  My kids told me "Grandma was cool" and coming from them, that's the highest compliment.  A big regret is that she won't be here to see my sister have her surgery in November.  But I am sure she will be watching her from up above.

Rest in peace, Mom.  I wish you could be here with us at the luau!
