It's been a hot minute!!! Let's start by saying... this has been so very hard but as the days go by, I get happier with the decision I made.  I used to wear a size 24 and weighed 292 when I started this weight loss journey. I now and a size 18 and weigh 225 lbs!! I was 220 when I had my first child, in 2000.  Wow.

I reached my first goal, which was lose 50 lbs! Yes!!! I'm currently at 67 lbs lost... and I have 26 more lbs until I reach my 2nd goal of 199! My long term goal is 175 lbs. I would like to reach that by my 32nd birthday which is 5 months away.  Just 50 more... I think I can... I think I can LoL

I currently don't have insurance here in Florida and I haven't seen a doctor since my 3 week post check up.  I am currently 12 weeks post op (tomorrow). I should have insurance within the month. I can't wait to see a doctor, a nutritionist... And I can't wait to get a script for a B12 shot once a month.

I also have been buying a few things of clothing here and there at thrift stores.. because I dont want to buy a new wardrobe just yet.  I'll be awarding myself with 1/2 a wardrobe after the first of the year. WooHOOOOOOO!!!

Its done! I have had a journey and its only been a weke and a day since surgery. A few days after surgery I went to the ER and was dehydrated. They gave me fluid and a anti-sick med.. And I felt better. Since then, I have been drinking. drinking, drinking. Have tried powerade zero and other sugar free powdered drink mixes to put in water BUT I hate the taste of fake sugar, so I have went back to plain ice water. Wish I could find out what else I could drink!!!  The eating thing sucks.  I have decided today I am sticking to soup broth and thats it.

I go to the doctor next Friday (8/5) to get my 68 staples out... And let's see what he says I can eat.  I remember him saying crackers??? But, I was out of it so lol  After that appt, will be the last appt with him as we are moving to Florida.  And he hasn't given me a list of vitamins to take... weird because I read everyone else is taking them.  Also noticed protein shakes... why haven't I been ordered to take them?????

Anyway, I started out at 288... I am now 271.

Gosh, it's been awhile since Ive been on here.

I finished my requirements back in the middle of May.  After, a buncha loops were jumped thru, my surgeon sent it for approval by my insurance.  One week later, I got notice that they denied me but was pending on some additional things I need to get done.

Before I submitted to insurance I had to have: 6 months of dr supervised diet, had to see the nutritionist & psychiatrist, letter of req from my PCP, lung xray and a bunch of lab tests,...

After denial, I had to have surgery clearance from: cardiologist, pulmonologist, and endocrinologist along with extra lab tests. Why, I have no clue... and all those doctors thought the same thing when I saw them. Hmph :-/

Anyway, I was APPROVED on June 20th and got my surgery date a week later!!! I am having surgery in just 11 days from now. July 21st is the day! Dr. Spier in Springfield is preforming an open RNY.  So, happy! :)

My last appt with my PCP is May 5th and May 9th is my appt with Dr. Spier in Springfield.  I am not going thru OSU as I planned...So excited.  They will submit for prior authorization... Just hope that me being a somewhat healthy obese person is enough for them.  My BMI is 42... and I have arthritis.  Cross your crossables!

Well, I was rushed in an out by the doctor today.  No BP was taken and he had me use an old fashion scale instead of the digital one Ive been using every weigh in.  The scale says I weigh 286. Hmff.
