Feeling Better
on July 10, 2007 1:12 pm
Its been 2 months since surgery.  I am beginning to feel like I am recovering.  It has been a long journey.  I have lost another 25 lbs. since surgery.  That feels good.  Just have really suffered from Migranes.  That has kept me down, but they are doing much better.  Actually went on vacation last week.  Went to Galveston and San Antonio.  Had a good time, other than the rain.  I am about a month from going back to work/school.  I am NOT ready or NOT looking forward to it.  Hope everyone is having a great summer.  ugg tired of the rain!

Thankful to be alive
on May 28, 2007 8:29 am
May 4th I went in for a simple hysterectomy and tummy tuck, needless to say 7 units of blood later and 6 1/2 hours it wasn't as simple as thought.  I had a fibroid the size of a volleyball and he chose to cut it up and take it out without opening me abdominally.  Which I truly appreciated, but they gave me an epidural so Sat. morning when they took it out they should of had me up walking within 4 hours of that time, but they actually came in and told us they didn't have time or staff to get me up that day?????  So the next morning Sunday, they sat me up when I asked to wash my back off.   My breathing became labored and all my numbers fell.  They laid me back down and a doc decided to do a CT.  They found that I had a blood clot that went to my lung.  They were not sure if there were more.  The doc said if I would have gotten up Sun. morning I probably would have died, that the clot was not attached and would have gone straight to my heart.  SO  I am very thankful they found it.  They started giving me heprin to thin my blood, unfortunately they gave me too much, which caused me to bleed out into my stomach.  They had to stop that, and give me more blood.  They gave me 11 more units and 2 plasma before taking me to emergancy surgery to put a filter down my neck to catch any further blood clots.  and then back into another surgery to stop the bleeding into my stomach.  I was in ICU for 5 days.  I am home now, but things are still very shakey.  I am taking it slow.  I developed a sinus, and ear infection while in the hospital and have had a headache non stop since May 4.  I also developed shingles while in the hospital around and in one eye.  Please keep me in your prayers for all of these things to heal.  I am feeling stonger every day.  Thanks to my loving husband who has been there every step of the way, or I don't think I would of made it thru this.  He has been such a blessing.  I know that God has a plan for my life as He has showed me this many times over the past few months.

TT and Hysterectomy May 4th
on April 16, 2007 7:05 am
I am really excited as I found out I am getting to have a TT at the same time as my hysterectomy.  I am a little nervous, but thanks to all of you, I feel more at ease.  My husband has been wonderfully supportive of all of this.  I have been really low on energy the past few weeks.  I can tell my blood level is lower now, and hopefully I won't need another blood transfusion.  If we can just get thru this surgery, I am feeling all will be better.

My Story

It has been a wild 18 months.  I am so thankful that God has brought me to where I am today.  I could not have done it without God and my husband.  I started out at 387 lbs.  I am not sure how I ever got there and if you have been there you know what I mean.  I am down 137 lbs. and feeling like a new person.  I am kinda stuck at this weight thou and still have about 50 lbs. to lose, so I am looking for motivation.  If I can answer any questions or encourage anyone please let me know.
