Almost 5 months out
on July 12, 2011 8:22 am
I am 5 days from being 5 months out. I am down 79 pounds. Not as great as I would have hoped but i do eat pretty much anything that i want. Sweets tend to make me sick if i eat much of it. I swim alot but thats pretty much all of the exercising that I can do. I have a back issue and recently I injured my right shoulder and so its pretty much useless.  I am way more active than I use to be. I do find that I am not hungry very much but I do eat.  i tend to get week spells at times. I am not sure why. The heat seems to make it worse. I had my blood work done last month. My calcium was low and a few other thing were on the low side but my doctor said not too worry yet. My bad cholesterol dropped 70 points since my last test before surgery. That was awesome. My good cholesterol was still high and only dropped about 7 points so he put me on a med to see if it drops any. I still have no regrets. 79 pounds is 79 pounds i dont have to carry anymore. I still want to loose  another 100 pounds and I think I will be happy.

Almost two months out.
on April 13, 2011 10:37 am
I am almost two months out and have been in  a stall for three weeks. Even tho I have been in the stall I have dropped two more pants size. I started out in a size 28 tight. I can now wear a size 20. Yaaa do the happy dance.. I have so far lost 53 pounds. Nothing to sneeze at but aggrivated over the stall. I have no real problems with food. There are a couple that dont agree well but I can live with ou them. Tea is my life saver. I do not drink coffee and cannot have sodas again so I drink tea whenever I am not at home. Other than that I drink water.  I am ready to start exercising by next week. I will be realeased from surgery. My eight weeks will be over. I am so ready to swim!!! I chew gum to help with the skin on my face tighten up. I will post a two month pic in a couple of days. I have no regrets and am sooooo happy to have had my sleeve. Anyone sitting on the fence. DO IT. Best thing you can do for yourself and your family.

on February 28, 2011 8:55 am
I am home sleeved and ready to lose.  The Dr. said that it went perfect. I have 6 holes in my belly. I have problems with spasms whether I drink anything or not. The last few day I have had more nausea. I want to chew something really really bad. lol But jello will have to do. I am down 4 pounds this morning. Made me feel better. Had more energy than I thought I would for sure. I try to take a nap but my body wants to move tired or not. lol Anyway i want to thank all of my OH friends. Y'all have truly been a blessing to me.I don't think I would have been as successful with out you guys. For anyone who is scared please think of your life as it is now ans think of how it can be as a healthier person.  It was the best thing I could have ever done for myself.

on February 3, 2011 9:56 am
I completed my pre-op Tuesday. As far as I know everything is great. I cant wait to be sleeved. Took 5 hours in New Orleans to meet my Dr. and have pre-op. I am leaving on the 15th to get there ahead of time and be ready. Might go to the zoo. Meet are great sleeve friend of mine. .  I am getting ready to move into a new house. renovations on the appartment we are in now and prepairing for surgery. So I am staying busy busy busy.  I am a little nervous as this is a major surgery but I am even more excited to start my journey with my body to a whole new lifestyle. I do want to say a special thank you to all of my OH friends who have supported me and watched me go thru the ups and downs of WLS. You are the best.

My Story

I am 35. I have two children and am a full time college student. I have lived with obesity my whole life. Now that I have sever back pain I was told that if I lost weight it might keep me from having to have back surgery.  It would be nice not to be ignored or made fun of because I am so over weight.  I went through school feeling different because I was heavier than other girls in my PE class. It was depressing. I was married to man who called me "fat ass" for seven years. Now I have a wonderful husband who loves me no matter what I look like and is great support. I will post as new developments occur.
