Its been too long!!
on March 19, 2009 10:28 pm
Hello everyone!!  It's been too long since I added anything to my profile and for that I truely apologize.  Things have been so crazy lately and I am just now getting things back to some kind of normal.  I finally got a computer at home, woo hooo!!   Anyway, it has been a little over 9 months since my surgery and things are going great.  I am down 141 pounds!!  I actually can wear a size 16 now so that is a BIG WOO HOO for me. I am going to the gym as much as possible and continue to try to always eat the right things. I have had a couple of small stalls since surgery nothing major.  No complications thus far.  Life is good and finally getting to live it instead of just existing in it is WONDERFUL!!!  I will try my best to blog more often, and get back in "the loop" with whats going on with everyone. I am also going to try and get some pictures on here as soon as possible.

God Bless,

Tammi

WOO HOO 6 MONTHS OUT!!!!
on December 11, 2008 10:11 am

It has been a while since I posted.  I was 6 months out on Tuesday!!

I am down 99 lbs since surgery and a total of 118 lbs total!  I am enjoying life and living like never before.  Looking forward to losing the other 80 pounds.  My daughter is getting married in June and I cant wait to go pick out my dress!  Sounds funny saying that I am excited to go try on clothes,,,lol.  This surgery is absolutely the best thing I have ever done for myself.

I have switched departments at work so I am unable to get on as much as before.  I do try to lurk as often as possible to keep up with my OH family.  I hope everyone has a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.  Please remember to be safe.

I love you all!!

4 months out today!!!!
on October 9, 2008 5:59 am
I am 4 months out today and down 74 pounds!!!!
I feel better than I have in years...  I have started losing my hair but its ok, I just had it cut off real short to make it easier to fix.  Things that I can do now that I could not do 4 months ago include:
-ride 5 miles on bike without stopping
 - paint my toenails myself,lol
-fit into a size 22 jeans (getting lose)
-get in the floor and play with my granddaugther without having to have help to get up
-run on the  treadmill for a solid 2 minutes without stopping to rest. I know that is not long but it is a start, lol.
There is so much more that I could list.  This surgery has saved my life and I am so grateful.  Although I was at a stall for about 5 weeks, I still managed to lose 74 pounds and come down from a size 30W (tight) to a 22w (lose) in pants and from a 5x (tight) to a 2x shirt, so I guess I should be pretty proud.

Thank you all for your continued support!!
I love you all!!!!

WOO HOO I DID IT!!!!
on August 8, 2008 6:26 am

This may sound silly to some who will read it , but I actually painted my own toenails last night!!!! wooo hooo..  I can not remember the last time I could do that.  I love my WLS, only wish I had been able to do it alot sooner.    I am cleaning out my closet again this weekend, everything is getting way too big...isn't it wonderful !!!  I have went from a size 30 pants (that was tight) and 5x shirt to a 3x shirt and size 24 some 22 pants.  I will be 2 months out tomorrow.   Ok, enough bragging... I hope everyone has a great weekend and thank you to all that have given and continue to give me support ( you know who you are ) and for all the prayers.  Please continue to pray for me and family as God knows our needs and I stand firm that HE takes care of his children!!

Hugs- Tammi

One Month Out!!!
on July 10, 2008 5:01 am

I went to see my nut yesterday, and I have lost a total of 33.5 pounds since pre-op ( which is what they consider my "surgery weight").  I am so excited.  Since starting (my 6 month diet) I have went down 53 pounds! I feel great, looking forward to breaking the 300 mark not too much further to go to get that accomplished.  I want to thank everyone for all their prayers and well wishes, so far it has been a great ride!! I will post more when it happens.  BTW my BMI is down to 50.3 ( i think is what he told me..lol) LIFE IS GOOD....Tammi

My Story

I just turned 37 and I have ALWAYS been over weight.  I had thougt about having the surgery years ago and always found a reason not to take the first steps and get started to a healthier me.  Then on Jan. 2007, God blessed my family with my heart and soul, my granddaughter, Madison.  The moment I held her I knew that I could not and would not allow ANYTHING to stand in my way of being able to enjoy her to the fullest !!!  I want to be able to get in the floor and play with her and out in the yard and run around with her and know that I will be able to have many many years with her. I started my journey in Oct. I began my 6 month weight loss program with a physican ( so far lost 16 lbs.) and I have my first consultation appt. with the surgeon on March 6th.  Finally feel like I am making progress to taking the first steps to my new and improved life that I know awaits me.
