Hoping and Yearning

I keep getting emails from Victoria Secrets because I ordered some "Pink" stuff for my girls.  

I can't wait till I can order this for myself.  My 14 year old is horrified at the thought that I may be able to fit into her clothes!

My Story

Hi My name is Abby,
I have always been short, now I am short and fat.  

I am 44 and the proud mother of 2 wonderful daughters, 14 and 10.  With both pregnacies I developed Diabetes.  The diabetes went away after I had each child.  I have been monitoring my blood sugar on a regular basis since then.

I was diagnosed as Type 2 Diabetic a little over a year ago.  5 months later I lost my father to complications from diabetes.  I have not been able to loss the weight to put the diabetes in remission.  My husband is also diabetic.  While his weight is very much under control, his sugar levels are way too high.  He is stubborn and doesn't take his medicine as he should in addition to battling a alcohol addiction.

I decided one of us needs to be around for our kids; I have been unsucessful in losing the weight and it keeps piling up.  I made a decision to have RNY surgery and take control of my life again.

I orginally went to my surgeon to investigate lap band.  My surgeon said he only does RNY for patients with diabetes.  I am hoping to have the surgery in August.
