Congratulations on your surgery today! I pray everything went well and you are now recovering comfortably. May God grant you a smooth, complication free recovery followed by a life time of improved health and long term weight loss. I wish you many wow moments and supportive people to encourage you along the way. When you get home make sure to sip, sip, sip that water and get moving as best you can - both will make a big difference in how you feel and how quickly you recover. Welcome to the loser's bench! :-)

Had another sticture fixed 2/22/08
on February 29, 2008 10:17 am
Well, I had another stricture. Knew I did for a month, but kept hoping I was wrong. Had it fixed 2/22/08. It was so tight Dr. said he wondered how I even got liquids down. Well, last few days I didn't. When shakes came up, I knew I had to act. Also have ulcers again, so back on Prevacid and Carafate...Argh! Doing better now, but still find when I first start to eat....it sort of backs up..I then wait a few minutes and try again. Meat is still problematic for me. I've been at 195 for about one and half weeks, hope it moves soon.I'm down from 251, so that's 56 lb.  I'm still walking each day and have increased to 2 mi. Arms are flabby and I need to concentrate on those arm weights more ..hope that helps the bat wings! People are commenting how how much I've lost. I'm getting used to being smaller now and don't notice as much, but my clothes tell the story. Having fun replacing old stuff w/new....or some thift store goodies. Have found some really good stuff. It is fun treasure hunting!Bathing suits are out in stores now....hum...I don't know about that. My thighs look kinda cottagecheesy (maybe that is because I eat so darn much of it HA). Still have a time getting all protein and water in. It's a daily struggle and goal to meet each day. So far I'm happy for my results and hope to get healthier each day!!!

3 month update!
on February 13, 2008 11:30 pm
Well, it is now 3 mo since surgery. Today I weighed 200 exactly, so that is 51 pounds lost!!!! I've read others have lost much faster, but guess it's just my bod!! I'm enjoying walking, and currently I am up to 2 miles a day. I'm shopping for some replacement clothes, but trying to hold back from going wild!! Been hitting the big sales and the Goodwill. Have found some goodies! I need to take a day and do some serious closet cleaning. Today I wore a skirt that 2 wks ago was a bit loose, but today it almost fell down, so I had to pin it on both sides.  I feel like the clothing world is starting to open up to me.Funny I still look in the big clothes section, but find myself spending less time there....like somehow I MUST first go there!!! I'm still having meat getting stuck issues and the mucus foamies--but not with cottage cheese/ricotta..my life savers!!I probably need to call the doctor. My next apptment is March 10th. My hair is shedding a bit, but not too much so far...but I'm on the lookout! They say about the 3rd mo. it really begins...hope not.   Well, onward!!!
