6 months out
on September 7, 2011 7:33 pm
Well, Im 6 months out and am down 90 lbs. I have had a bit of trouble along the way. Trouble finding protein that I like, which now I have found Supreme Protein carb conscious protein bars that are 32 g of protein a day, gives me a good jump start to my day. I've had a gain from water retention which is completely devestating, and I was hoping to lose more, but need to give myself a pat on the back for what I have lost. Unfortunately, I have never been a very positive person, so I'm working on that. I have attendency to see the bad in me and the positive in others. Thank God for therapy! LOL...Joining OH has been such a joy for me, seeing the problems others have allows me to know Im not alone, plus seeing everyones positivity keeps me inspired! I thank all of you who post for being an inspiration to me.
As far as what ive lost so far, boy can i tell a difference in myself. I have so much more energy and life and am so much more active with my children. I absolutey love the change in weight and can't wait to see what it'll be like when I lose the remaining 114 lbs.

Love to all!

Diet change
on March 16, 2011 2:47 pm
Well, I was having quite a bit of trouble with the all liquid diet. It was really bothering my acid reflux. So I called the baratric coordinator and she kept me on the liquids that I could tolerate and added lean protein, like cheese, chicken, luncheon meats that are baked, not like glazed or honey ham, cottage cheese, that sort of thing and all seems to be going well.

Its only 5 more days until the day of surgery. I'm getting pretty scared. Its always scary the idea of going under anesthesia. I always worry that something will happen. I pray to GOD not to let anything happen. I'm doing this for my family, so I pray he won't take them away from me, or me from them.

Speaking of GOD, I had better get going and get my family supper so we can go to church tonight. Gotta love Lent, gives you another chance to make it to church instead of Sundays!

My Story

Hello,
I'm a 27 year old mother of 2, married for 7 years, and am scheduled to undergo Roux en Y surgery on March 22, 2011.
I've battled weight issues all of my life, and it seems like no matter what I do, I cannot lose weight.
I also have PCOS, GERD, Sleep Apnea, high cholesterol and joint problems. I am way too young to have all of these problems and I need to be there for my children as they grow up, so that has motivated me to have the surgery.
I am very scared, and nervous. I hope everything goes okay.
