Update and I hope I can do it
on March 17, 2007 9:48 am

Today is my niece's B-day party.  She's 2. So of course there'll be cake and ice cream(already talked to my bro and he has angelfood cake, that stuff is so darn good plain or with cool whip) and chips and grilled food and probably taco dip cuz we cannot have a family function without it and it's my favorite food ever!  I plan on having one brat or burger without the bun of course.  And I know I have the will power to deny the cake..not a huge cake fan..but angelfood? lol  It's the chips and taco dip and such.  There should be veggies too.  I'm way too new of a bandster to eat chips and am not super sure of fresh veggies.  I had a few carrots the other day but am scared of them.  I am now able to eat any meat in any consistency and can add fresh veggies as long as I chew well.
I'm bringing my 32oz bottle of water to sip on.
Otherwise I'm almost one month out..monday is the anniversary!  Yesterday was a good day for eating, ate my salmon for breakfast, tuna and mayo for lunch and dinner was a banana on the way home from work.  I've been getting my water in most days but want to drink more than 64oz.  It's hard cuz I used to chug it and now if I drink it too fast I burp!  I've been drinking 16 oz water before breakfast, can't have it until I finish the whole cup..and then of course wait my 1/2hour.  then after eating, take my shower and then start sipping again and finish 16oz by the time I leave for work or whereever I have to go.  I haven't been having too many cravings. but I will admit I've eaten ice cream a couple times in the past 2 weeks...which is a no-no on my diet but it's only been about 1/2cup at least.  I'm working on not doing that anymore.  I am getting a little more hungry though...or maybe it's just that I know I can eat more? Trying to stick to the rules though.
My mom hid my scale so I can't step up every day.  I asked her to.  I feel like I've been holding in a lot of water this week though.  My fingers are a little swelled....my TOM very soon.
2 weeks from yesterday I go for my 6 week follow up and hopefully a fill!  I'm excited and scared.  I'm so scared of the PBing and sliming you all talk about and the chest discomfort.  I'm afraid of having those but am more afraid of causing damage to my pouch or esophagus or band.  At least I can say I have no regrets yet!  I feel happier in general because I know I have a chance to lose weight with this awesome tool.  My WORK SCRUBS FIT!!!  They were getting so tight just before surgery and now they fit perfectly, maybe 10 more pounds and I can get into my old ones?? And my feet don't hurt at the end of the work day.  So those couple benefits after just 17 pounds are amazing to me and make me feel so much better

water weight

It's about my TOM and I've hidden my scale because I always gain before and then drop right after.  The thing is, my TOM is supposed to be now but it hasn't been regular in a long time so I don't know when to expect it but I wish it would just hurry up already.  I can feel/see the extra water in my fingers and it sucks!  I'm trying to drink my water.

20 days post op
on March 11, 2007 11:33 am

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since surgery.  I"m feeling soooooo much better.  My port site pain is minimal, I don't have to walk around holding my belly anymore.  My bad incision that wasn't healing and was WIDE open a week after surgery is looking great!  It's finally got new skin healing over it!  I've lost 17 pounds so far since my pre-op appointment.  My goal is 2 pounds per week to make me happy.  My goal for March 30th(my fill date) is to be 260..only 4 pounds and 3 weeks to go.  I can totally do it!  I feel like I'm happier overall.  I think it's because for so long I felt like I didn't know what to do or how to lose the weight and now I have this great tool and as long as I follow the rules and keep up with my surgical team I will succeed.  I really don't think I can possibly fail my band.  I've not been hungry except for maybe 2 or 3 days but I think those were chocolate cravings.  I'm eating my protein and trying to drink my water.  So I'm happy knowing this will work and anxious to lose more and get to a healthy body and a hot one I'm hoping!

2 weeks post-op
on March 5, 2007 11:16 pm

I've been banded for 2 weeks now.  Today was my first day back to work, I'm really tired now.  It kicked my butt.  I can't wait to feel more normal and be healed.  I have an incision that I need to keep changing gauze on every few hours because the skin is not closed up.  It's looking better everyday though.  I think it's growing new skin!  My port incision is feeling better today, didn't give me hardly any pain at work today, hopefully I'm not hurting tomorrow.  I'm now able to eat 1/4 cup of food at a time or 4 tablespoons or 2 oz.  I can eat mushies, cooked veggies, fruits.  Cottage cheese is a major staple in my diet right now, I better not get sick of it!  I have gotten in all 64oz of my water for the past 3 days!  I haven't been hungry either.  everyone had ice cream at work today and I was so proud, I could've ate some but I ate my broth.

I'm 1.5 weeks post op.  Feeling pretty good except for some bothersome incisions.  One isn't healing well and my port incision hurts like crazy.  Went to see Dr. Wasco yesterday because of these 2 things.  He says the incisions look good and to change my gauze on the one every few hours and come back in 2 weeks.  I really like him, he's a super nice doctor.  Oh and I lost 14 pounds since pre op and 10 pounds since surgery day!!  That was exciting.  I got to start eating soft cooked veggies this week.  I had green beans yesterday and they were really good.  Tomorrow I can start fruits! Yay!  I started out eating only 2 TBSP at a time per my big manual that the surgeon gave me.  Now I can eat 4 TBSP or 2 oz or 1/4 cup.   I'm usually not very hungry but am eating about 3-4 hours apart because I need to eat.  I'm not very good with my water intake but am getting better.
