Surgeon Testimonial

Titus Duncan
I first met Dr. Duncan at the Seminar and he has a great humor about him. He didn't leave any stone unturned about the surgery. He doesn't try to talk you into the process at all and lets you know ALL of the risks and benefits of it.I had been very determined to have the WLS before I got there but after the deminar I was over the top with enthusiasm.I also had an office visit the same day as the seminar and there staff if very nice. They even came out into the waiting area and asked if anyone needed anything like water. or anything else. I wouldn't change my mind at all on the choice I made of him.

Never look back, and keep on looking forward to tomorrow! Tomorrow there will be less pain, tomorrow there will be more energy, tomorrow is filled with hope, tomorrow is already on it's way, tomorrow is bright and full of wonder, tomorrow is a new day, and keep making plans, keep hoping, and keep looking forward because tomorrow is coming! Yesterday is gone, it is the past, tomorrow is the future, and today it is a gift, that's why you call it the present. -unknown

First off let me say... I have lost 22lbs since I last weighed. YEAH!!!! I was so happy. I have been eatting religiously and exersicing at the gym almost everyday. Glad something is paying off finally. I went to the hemitologist yesterday and all I had was low iron. Man, being sent to a specialist just for that. I got a pat on the back and apresciption for iron tablets. She did say she was gonna call dr. chhinna and tell her I was fine. SO now two more to go, JEEZ! I have appointment Tues with Pulmonologist and Wednesday with the Cardiologist for a ecocardiogram. So after that though buddy she BETTER write my clearance letter or else!!! I can be going back to atlanta pretty much and take my nutritionist class and finish that up and go see lolita at dr. duncans office about the ins things. I am so ready. so Will update later when something to tell ya..

Ecocardiagram and Pulmonologist
on September 27, 2005 7:36 am
I went to the gym for the second time last night and MAN! Not that easy..... I am giving it every effort though...Well, my pcp office called yesterday and want me to go for a ecocardiagram at the hospital instead of stress test. OK.... And then said my pulmonary funtion test wasnt as high as she liked and are now wanting me to go to a pulmonologist. Yeah, thats right... Another specialist. Which means in my eyes.. cha ching cha ching..Its crazy. My pcp wont give the go ahead for the clearance till then. WHatever... I am getting so UUGGHH!!!So the only thing that keeps me from going crazy is my weight loss buddies on the boards...Deb goes to dr. duncan to and she said to just do the best you can to lose weight before I go back to see him and dontthink so much about the sixty pounds they want me to lose. So I am..... SMO's RULE!!!!!

Well, Im offically a member at a gym! What a joke that is. Nearly 400lbs and going to a gym. Don't know what I can do as far as exercising there but gonna give it EVERY effort I have. My daughter is signing up with me so thats cool. Did't really want to go by myself. I went to JcPenney and bought a nice light pair of shoes. Called New Balance 600, whatever that means lol. So will let ya know how that goes. I have been eatting just enough to get by. No junk food at all and no sugar. Started taking Vitamins like the surgeon says to do before surgery. So on the right road I guess...

Pysch Doctor
on September 22, 2005 7:30 am
Well, been a ride I tell ya since I last wrote on here. Let me begin. I went to Macon to see the pchyc dr. and he was SO SO nice. It went great. He was a really concerned type of dr. which really makes ya feel good when you have so much going on like this type of stuff. His name was Alan Williams out of Macon Ga. Any of you out there ever need to see one and you live around here in Ga I HIGHLY recommend him.He even told me he was sending out a letter that I passed. See, thats what Im talking about. He didnt have to even tell me that I passed the test.. Next day I had the Dr's visit with the surgeon in Atlanta. Dr. Duncan. Well, I saw his other associate Dr. Fields. She was really nice and concerned and all but was slammed in the face that I needed to lose SIXTY pounds... I was so SHOCKED.. NEVER did they tell me this. And she got upset because I came all that way and noone told me ahead of time. So that was fun. I weighed 397 at the office so that was good. Some gone huh? I was really bummed about it but figured that NOTHING is gonna keep me from getting this done so.... so be it. Next, I called my pcp office and YES the platelets are still elevated. So now I have an appointment with a hemotologist next wednesday to see whats up with that. My pcp Dr. WONT give clearance letter till all is ok with me. I understand her point but UUUHHHGG...After the surgeons office visit the seminar was at 5:30. That lasted till about 8:00. Well, with all the questions and all people asked. It was very nice but I had done so much research on the net for years till it wasnt nothing I hadnt known. Then yesterday I had the pulmonary test done. Wasnt to bad Id say. Just was so exhausted from all the walking from offices to hospitals to you name it. They even gave me a heads up on the test. Said I passed it ok. So here I am now chilling and catching up on all my things to do around here and get started REALLY being religious about the weight issue's. I am even joining a local gym down the road from us. It is a small town so the gym is nice and all and not to expensive. I just wonder if cant hardly go with my knee killing me now, how will I do it at a gym??? Well if determination counts for anything....... IM THERE!!
