Stephen G. Boyce, M.D. Dr. Boyce is wonderful and so is his staff. I really liked that he took as much time as I needed to go over all of my questions and I never felt rushed.
The aftercare program is extremely important and they like you to maintain regular visits for one full year and then once a year visits for each year thereafter.
He explained all the risks but I felt very confident and his complication rate is very low compared to the national average.
I would rate him a 10 overall.
He has great surgical competence as well a wonderful bedside manner.

Hi Everyone! My name is Dee and I live in TN. I have 3 children and I am a sales and support manager for a software company.
My Story
I have been overweight my entire life and have wanted and researched having gastric bypass for the last 4 years. Our insurance has an exclusion for WLS so I decided I cannot put it off any longer and am going to be self pay. I think it will be worth every penny as I cannot put a price on my health or a longer, active life with my family.
Once I decided to be self pay, the process has really gone by smoothly. I had already decided on the surgeon I wanted to use and a visit to my gynecologist confirmed that decision as she herself had gastric bypass with Dr. Boyce and she looked amazing. She told me how great she felt and what a great Dr. he was so I left her office and called to sign up for his seminar. In the meantime I attended a support group meeting of some of his patients and it was fun and informative. Once I attended the seminar, I went in for a one on one consulation with Dr. Boyce and he truly was wonderful and answered all my questions and explained everything to me. My surgery is now scheduled for June 2nd 2008
