My first impression of Dr. S was a very good one. He's knowledgeable, kind, soft spoken and he makes sure you know everything you need to know. Him and his office staff are AMAZING!! They are very diligent and make sure you are taken care of. If a problem arises They are VERY good at taking care of it ASAP!! There's nothing I didn't/don't like about Dr. Sieloff. Future patients should know that he will do whatever it takes to take care of you and guide you through the process. He's realistic and he treats his patients like real people, he addresses the risks and assures you he and his team do everything to minimize those risks. I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Sieloff and his staff, Jody his nurse is amazing and they are so in tune with their patients! He's not only a VERY competent Surgeon, but his bedside manner is amazing!

    Wow Amanda I was reading your page and I have to tell you when i do it is like you are me all you r feelings, it is the way I feel all the time everyday and I know that we are better than that. I hope that all goes well today and that I can follow your progress and hope to use your story as insperation for myself......Sending angels to watch over you.

Guess what?

There was an issue and my insurance needed additional information to make a decision. They wanted at least 3 months of continuous weight loss program of some kind. So Being that I see my Dr once a month and every visit we go over my weight, my diet, my plans, basically weight counseling, he was able to write a letter giving six months worth of dates that he's worked with me on my weight loss issues. So My surgeon's office resubmitted it, I wait and wait and wait, only to call insurance and find out they hadn't submitted it to the review board!! The nice lady went ahead and did that for me...so I wait and I wait. Well yesterday I happened to call the insurance company about my dental coverage and it dawned on me to check the status of my WLS claim. She puts me on hold and comes back and tells me a letter was sent out on the 16th stating that I meet ALL qualifications for WLS according to them!! I asked her "so that means I'm approved right?" and she says YES!!! OMG!! I haven't gotten the letter but just knowing that I'm approved is a BIG deal!! 

That was the start of my day and it only got better from there. I've been fighting Social Security for SSI since 2004 because of a back injury and other medical reasons. I've been denied over and over. I Finally had a hearing before a judge on the 17th with my Disability attorney with me. The judge was nicer than I thought he would be. I was told it would be at least a few months before I heard anything about my determination. Yesterday my husband comes home with the mail and hands me something that's from the SSA, we both know what it is. I open it and read through all the legal wording and about fell off the bed when I saw that the judge has approved my case!! WOW, a huge weight  has been lifted and a long fight is over. With the surgery approval and the SSI approval I will FINALLY be able to move forward with my life and get healthy and have the resources to maintain after surgery! I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am for this! I know God is responsible for all my blessings and this is no exception. My life is about to be changed forever and I can't wait! I've been battling my weight since I was a kid and my disabilities since 2003 and to know that I can now do something about both is just mind blowing!! 

I told two of my siblings about my choice to have WLS and didn't get the greatest response. I heard nothing but "you haven't tried  hard enough any other way" or "you won't be able to stick with the strick guidlines of surgery" I feel like they don't have faith in my which hurts, but I'm not doing this for them! I'm doing this for me, for my health, for my future, and I deserve to be healthy and happy for once in my life! With my amazingly faithful and loving husband and my dear friends by my side I know that God has given me the chance to make the change I need to make to be who I'm supposed to be!!
