Thursday is your
day! Just remember
you are on the
journey of a
lifetime. Try to
enjoy every minute.
It may sound weird
now, but know that
you are cared for
and prayed for here,
and all too soon
this will be but a
memory and you will
be an inspiration to
someone else. I am
waiting for you on
the losers' bench!
Had my 6 months visit the other day -- actually closer to 6 1/2 months -- official weight loss 113 since surgery 137 overall!! What an awesome feeling. I still have a ways to go another 60 pounds or so, but seems so attainable now. All my labs were excellent. Only suggestion was to try taking thiamin supplement to see if it helps with some issues I am having. My original BMI was 52.3 and is now 34.4 -- that in itself just boggles my mind. For those of you that doubt if the surgery will work -- well I was one of those and am now pleasantly surprised that it does work!
Few days ago marked my two month point. Things are still going well... weight coming off. Total wight loss is now 65 lbs. Each day is different -- so I am learning to take things one day at a time. Nothing seems to stay the same -- so its all trial and error! Will post new pics soon.... until next month.
Today I had my one month post op visit. I have lost 43 pounds and my BMI is down to 46. This journey so far has been incredible -- and its only been a month! I have experienced so many emotions/hurdles/successes over the past month that it's almost surreal. I am finally on my way to transforming into the real 'me'. Something of concern today -- I may have a hernia near one of the incision sites, however at this point we have decided to just keep an eye on it and see what happens -- hopefully it is just swelling remaing from surgery. All blood work was ok except for iron - I am not absorbing as I should -- so need to start the iron pills.
The people in OH Chat have been so wonderful -- couldn't have gotten here without you guys -- thank you!
Well, finally got into my rpofile to update. Had surgery on the 18th as scheduled. A few minor complications, was in surgery longer than expected (5 hours), but all in all went well. Had a rough time in hospital with pain med at first, but once changed felt good. I came home on Sunday the 21 late in the evening. The first few days were rough, but am doing great now.
Still have the fear I won't lose, but it is coming off already -- so that has boosted my confidence. Cant wait to come back and report actual losses!
Two days and counting..... the last week has been the beginning of a new journey. The liquid diet is going ok -- have not lost as much weight as i had thought, but have adhered to the diet!
I have met so many wonderful people the last week and have been offered so much support. That kept me going -- knowing that there is hope and that I can do it as so many others have.
Thursday the 18th will be here before I know it and I can continue this awesome journey.
