Thursday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

August 30, 2007 - Back from my surgery
posted on 8/30/07 4:11 pm
Down 12 pounds since my August 23 VSG.

Well I am back home and so pleased with my surgery.  I am proud of myself for handling the surgery on my own as well as making a decision to do it.  Today I am tired.  More tired then normal.  I am sure it is a combination of my fibromyalgia and the recovery from surgery.

Dr. Joya and his surgical team were fabulous.  The hospital clean and staff very professional.  Nathilie is beautiful and very helpful and supportive.

Today I started on my protein shakes.  I think I will have to try a few to find out the ones that work best for me.  So far this first one is toooo sweet.

I have told all of my family about my surgery.  My mother was shocked and has not given support one way or the other.  My sister's knew before I left about my surgery.  One was very supportive the other said I would die if I went to Mexico.

My husband Ken has been awesome.  I came home to a bouquet of fresh flowers and a gift (digital tire guage).  Its the thought that counts.  I am fortunate to have such a wonderful caring husband.

I continue with my counselling.  I was suppose to go in the morning yesterday but I was late getting in the night before so just didn't make it.  I was too tired.

My husband and son have been looking after there own meals.  Which is great.  Its funny listening to them plan their menu.  Luckily they can both cook.

My husband picked up two large plastic container as I am going to start weeding out my closet.  Clothes too big, clothes for friends and clothes to go to the consignment store.  I have to admit I have alot of clothes.  I picked up 4 dresses, 4 topsand a short set while I was in Puerto Vallarta.  All small sizes.  I have some clothes for down the road.

Enough typing time to have a rest......
