Well since I dont have a job at this time, i was suggested to apply for medicaid for myself and my daughter. I hope i qualify because i have heard that medicaid covers gastric bypass in miami. However i will continue with my plans as if nothing has changed. once all my test are done and i get a cardiology clearance if medicaid does not cover the procedure I will continue with my plans to have surgery with Dr Alvarez.  I have heard that there is a very good surgeon doing VSG in Miami  Dr Moises Jacobs.

I spoke with Susan today and it turns out that the only available dates will be for April 28th or the 30th since Dr Alvarez is leaving mid April to a conference.
I guess this is fine since i need to do a cardiology workup for my mitral valve prolapse. I need to schedule an appointment with my pcp to get a few more preliminary test done, just for my peace of mind.
I also found out there is a 3% fee to use my credit card.   I guess this is not too bad.  I hope to do this and come out fine. I guess deep down inside i am just so scared that something might go wrong and my daughter will be left alone.

THE START OF MY JOURNEY

Hello my name is Maria  i am 44 y.o and i have been battleling obesity since my late 20's  At this time i am guessing to be approx 305lbs. I am divorced with a beautiful 7 y.o girl who is my pride and joy. I have finally decided to have the VSG with Dr. Guillermo Alvarez , I have read so many wonderful things about him that i know there is no one else i would rather have doing my surgery 

I have been trying to have this surgery since 2003 and there has always been something preventing me from it. Finally after everything i have gone thru, it's time to do something for myself and not feel quilty.  This decision has come at a critical time in my life, I lost my job because i broke my ankle and leg and they could not hold my job. So this being the first time in my life not working for a couple of month's  I decided that it's time for a change and a start to my new life. I am truly sick and tired of feeling sick and tired all the time, 

My 45th Birthday is on April 2nd and. I am trying to get my surgery done by April 10th. I will be self pay with much sacrifice i might add, but it must be done. Credit Cards are a great thing..............
