Well, today is as good time as any to start this blog. I am currently at 280lbs and 5'8".  I have contimplated WLS for a few years. Finally in Sept. 2006 I said why not and in Nov. started the ball rolling with my PCP. In Dec. had my Psyc (sp) and in Jan. my nut and Feb. my orientation class with the surgeon. I had an upper GI endoscopy on March 26 and everything looked great! Now it is really a waiting game I guess.
My dh was surprisingly ok with this decision, I was surprised. His ds mother passed away from complications after WLS 3 yrs ago now I guess. He supports any desicion I make regarding this issue.
I am a former Marine and was at one time a size 3 and 150lbs. I got hurt while in MC and gained about 50lbs by the time I got out. When I got out I started working out and lost 25 lbs and was very muscular. I got caught up doing the part thing and for the next 2 years just drank and ate out gaining a huge amount of weight. I met my dh and from when we got married in 2004 until my desicion to do WLS I gained another 50lbs. I have lost 20 or so since my first visit with PCP in Nov. A little at a time I guess.
