Hello! My name is Marissa. I am a mom to a beautiful little girl named Jenna. I have the best man in my life ever named Dj who I love with all my heart. I am really excited to be having weight lost surgery. I am having the gastric bypass, it is going to change my life in so many ways. Thankfully I have a supportive family going through this experience with me.

I cant beleive its almost been 2 years already. Time flys when your getting skinny! =) I currently weigh 190. And I want to get down to 150. I go to the gym 4-5 days a week. I have made working out a hobby of mine. You got to like working out or you wont stick to it. If I hit my goal of 150, I plan to get pregnant in Sept. Only i hit my goal though. Its really hard for me to accept having to regain some weight back. But i for sure will be at the gym my entire pregnancy. I hope to only gain 20lbs in my pregnancy. Thats all that is really going on with me lately....ill update soon!

I haven't written in a while. I must say I love my new body. I have definetly hit my plateau. Over the holidays I did stray away from my diet. Fortunetly I have got right back on track. I completely took carbs out of my diet. The only carbs I eat is about 25-30grams a day and that is because of fruits and veggies. I am down about 130lbs. I work out atleast 5 days a week for an hour and a half. My daily diet is 2 eggs for breakfast, a salad with chicken for lunch, and protein and veggies for dinner. I must say my pouch has stretched I can tell because I find myself being able to eat a dinner plate salad. Eventhough I can eat more I still try to eat all my protein first and If I still have room eat my veggies. Over the summer I went to Cedar Point and for the first time in about 6 years I could fit on the rides no problem. I caught myself double checking on the ride examples outside the line to make sure I fit and of course I did. It was a good laugh afterwards. Your mind has to mentally get used to being smaller. I love not having to go to a different store or the plus size section. Before surgery I was in a size 22-24 now I fit a 15. My goal is to lose another 50lbs and be able to wear a 7-9. I will mention I have atleast 15lbs of loose skin on my belly. I will have a tummy tuck hopefully next year, I want to have a baby once I get to my goal weight. It would be pointless to get the TT before and let my belly get saggy again. But Im doing great and loving the way I look and feel!

I am doing extremely well. I recently got a new job working full time, I am keeping busy. I am exercising a minumum of 2 days a week. Im losing about 3-4lbs a week. I am so excited to see how much more I lose by May. I am finally going to be able to go to an amusement park, and not worry if I can fit on the ride. I am down 95lbs. I have a weird phobia with carbs. I will not touch them no matter what. The only care I eat are maybe croutons on a salad and whatever carbs that are in fruit. I am just losing to quickly I feel like if I eat carbs it will slow my weight loss down. But other than that I am doing really good.

Well I have only lost 1lb since last week so far. Everybody says they can see the difference. I think I am losing my inches before lbs right now. I feel so more energetic, I can run up the stairs with out getting out of breath, I can basically cross my legs now. I go see my doctor in a couple weeks for my 2month check up. Hopefully I am right on track as far as my weightloss goes. Im not exactly sure why I am discouraged. I have done a lot of research and it seems as if everybody feels this way at some point in their journey. That gives me some hope that im not the only person who get discourged post op.

I had my RNY about 5 weeks ago. Im officially down 35lbs, The surgery wasn't bad at all. The most uncomfortable thing about it was the drain tubes. They felt disgusting and gross. Since my RNY I am still on the soft foods phase. It is going good, I am trying to stick mainly to protein. I exercise 3-4 times a week, I never thought I would say I actually enjoy working out. I am getting kind of nervous because I feel like I should be dropping pounds with all the exercise I do, but as of now it is slowly coming off. I try to only weigh myself once a week, so I don't get my hopes up. Everything is going good so far! I had a quick recovery.

My Story

I have been overweight my whole life. It really dawned on me that i was morbidly obese after I had my daughter. I had always been overweight but I still played sports and never really felt overweight. I gained about 80lbs during my pregnancy and never lost any of it. I actually gained 30lbs more since then. About a year ago I realized that weight loss surgery was for me. After months of dieting, so many tests, and the approval for my RNY, I will be having surgery on October 3!
