Andrew Duffy, M.D.
Dr. Andrew Duffy is the best!!! He is with Yale University Bariatric Surgeons - a center for excellence and he is in with Dr. Robert Bell. I went to the seminar on 12/8/06 and listened attentively to all they had so say. Needless to say when Dr. Duffy presented I just knew that this is the guy I was looking for to do my surgery - he knew his stuff and he was kind and sensitive to my questions. I was getting frustrated because I could not get an appointment for my psych eval prior to 1/07 and he was kind enough to give me the name of Mark Gaynor, LCSW and I got an appointment right away. My paperwork was all complete and in Dr. Duffy's office by 1/2/07. Since I did not get a call with an appointment by 1/3/07, the very next day, I decided to e-mail Dr. Duffy on our Groupwise system that we use at Yale and I said \"I am hoping God places it in your heart to read this e-mail - I need a date!!!\" and he read it - I got a call with a date four days after. I feel confident and I know that I made the right decision. The staff is great, Jane, his nurse manager was great - she had R&Y a couple years ago and looks great and she used to work as an OR nurse where I work which is part of Yale too.

JUST A FEW MORE HOURS TO GO

I HAD A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP.  I AM GOING TO START GETTING DRESSED FOR CHURCH IN A FEW.  THE GOOD THING IS THAT MY NERVES HAVE SETTLED DOWN - I WAS FREAKING OUT UP UNTIL THE TIME I WENT TO BED LAST NIGHT.  I HAD TAKEN OUT MY BRAIDS MONTHS AGO AND A COUPLE WEEKS AGO I CUT OFF ALL MY HAIR REAL SHORT!!!! LAST NIGHT I COLORED IT AND I LIKE IT.  MARTITA IS LOOKING GOOD!!!!!

SO I AM NOT NERVOUS NOW ONLY ANXIOUS ABOUT THE LEVEL OF PAIN - I AM BRACING MYSELF FOR THE WORST HOPING TO WAKE UP AND FIND OUT IT IS NOT ALL THAT BAD - THANK GOD MY PROCEDURE IS LAPAROSCOPIC.

I AM GOING TO GET UP AT 5:30 AM, HOP IN THE SHOWER AND AL AND CANDI WILL TAKE ME TO THE HOSPITAL - HAVE TO BE THERE AT 6:30.  STILL HAVE NOT PACKED MY BAG.  I WAS TOLD TO COME WITH THE CLOTHES ON MY BACK ONLY.  I TOOK OFF MY DIAMONDS - NO PROBLEMS THEY WERE ALREADY DANCING AROUND ON MY FINGER, I TOOK OFF MY NAILS - THAT WAS A PROBLEM AND NOW I HATE PARTING WITH MY PANDORA BRACELET AND MY QUEEN BEE.  OOOPS! I BETTER PUT THOSE RINGS BACK ON AND TAKE THEM OFF WHEN I COME BACK HOME FROM CHURCH.  MY FINGERS LOOK AWFUL WITHOUT MY SILK WRAP.  BUT I CAN DO ALL THOSE THINGS AFTER I COME HOME.

OKAY WHY AM I JUST STARTING TO GET NERVOUS AGAIN - THIS NEEDS TO STOP.

WISH ME BLESSING GUYS - THE WAIT IS ALMOST OVER!

TODAY IS MOVING FAST!!!!

I work at this very busy Recovery Care Center - we have tons of postop patients coming in today along with several hospital admissions.  My day started at 6:30 a.m. and it is getting busier by the minute - time is just flying - and that is not all - I have all these manuals to finish up and edit before the end of the day.  Monday is coming faster than I can imagine!!! Hardly had time to think about it the last hour or so and when I do I have these butterflies in my stomach.

I have to call Yale at 3:00 p.m. to ask them what time they want me to arrive Monday morning.  I am the first case - scheduled for 7:30 a.m. I am sooooooooooo happy and at the same time I am freakin' outttttttttttt! what a combination of emotions - I am drinking water - I am so nervous I can't even eat.

I AM SOOOOO EXITED AND SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SCARED.  I THINK I AM GOING TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK BEFORE MONDAY - I HAVE TO GET A GRIP.  BUT I AM ON MY WAY - TO LIVE LONGER AND BETTER
