My name is Mary, I am 39 years old, married and a mom.  My top weight was 264.  I had my RNY on March 17th and since then I have lost 100 lbs. which is very exciting.  I haven't had any trouble with food thank goodness and my recovery has been smooth.  I am so grateful for this website because I have learned so much from the things people post.  I read through the Q & A section every day.  I hope to make lots of friends through this amazing support system and also hope that I am able to help others as well.

Finally made goal!!
on December 29, 2008 6:00 am
I am 9 months out and have lost 104 lbs.  I weighed 160 this morning which is my goal weight, however, now that I am here I'd like to lose another 10 lbs and I think I'll be done.  This has been an amazing journey and I am so blessed.  All of my labs are good and I feel great!!  Happy New Yeat to all!!!

Well...I'm down 94 lbs and have 10 to go to reach goal and 20 to go to be where I'd really like to be. I lose a lot slower these days but I'm still losing so I'll take it!! :)

90 lbs down
on October 16, 2008 6:25 am
I can't believe I've dropped 90 lbs. I am now 174 and thrilled. The weight loss has slowed down but I'm still losing so have no complaints. :)

My Story

Hmmm...my story.  I am orginally from Jacksonville, Fl.  I married my Navy husband 11 years ago and we moved to Va Bch., VA. about 8 years ago when Cecil Field closed.  Hubby just retired after 23 years of service and now we are planning on moving to the midwest.  We are looking forward to being closer to family and starting a new life.  For me, it's a new life in a new body.  I am so excited to start my new life and am so thankful that this surgery is giving me the opportunity to live a more active life while I am still young enough to do so.  It's going to be a great year!!!
