Well I go to my BEGIN class on Tuesday December 4. I will also get my surgery date then. I feel so nervous but Im hoping that I can get the surgery done before the end of December. Then I would only have to pay about $552.00 up front. If after that then I would have to pay my max out of pocket amount of $1000 plus my calendar year deductable of $300. Please everyone pray for me for the financial part of this. I have not been working a lot and money is so tight. Im hoping after this life altering surgery I will regain some of my health and function normal. Thanks for all the support you guys give me always.

Hi everyone,
I just cant believe it! I heard from my insurance company today that I'M APPROVED FOR THE SURGERY!! It has happened so fast that im almost afraid!!
Now I just have to finalized everything with the surgeon and hospital, im just worried they are gonna want a ton of money upfront as my insurance will just pay 80%. God willing they will atleast bill me my portion. One good thing is if I have to my WLS done by December 31 2007  I wont have to pay another deductible. If anyone has dealt with Mobile Infirmary for their surgery please let me know how they handled your financial end of it. This is my last hurdle. OH I cant beleive I will be on the losing side soon!!! ALL THANKS TO GOD!!

Hi everyone, just wanted to update that my paper work has finally been faxed today to my insurance company for approval. Im asking that you all pray for me too to get approved. This surgery is my last hope on getting this weight off and being healthy again God Willing. Im so nervous now waiting to get a response about it. 
I was a little scared about the surgery when I read about a lady here in Mobile, Stephany W who died a couple of years back after being sucessful with her surgery. I think it was like 8 weeks later she died from a blood clot in her lungs. That is so scary, I dont know for sure if it was related to her WLS or not. I will just leave it all in Gods hands and know that no matter what I am making an attempt at life. Now I only feel like im going through the motions of living...not really living life.

I went to the Gastric Bypass Support meeting at Mobile Infirmary tonight. Dr. Hannon was there and spoke on some very interesting topics. There were a few people there that has already had the surgery done. Many were like me in the midst of trying to get insurance to approve them and worried about the outcome. Dr. Hannon works along with my surgeon Dr.Weinstein, They really seem to have so much knowlegde in the area of bariatric surgery and I feel so much more comfortable being in knowlegdable hands. Im a bit concerned about wat I will feel in recovery right after the surgery. When I had my gall bladder taken out 2 weeks ago, it was so much pain in recovery. Perhaps because it was so infected and had a huge stone stuck in it. If anyone has had WL surgery at Providence hospital please let me know and let me know what was the out come.
