I have been big every since I was a small child. I have struggled with weight for a long time. One time in my life I went on Medifast and lost down to 189 lbs. Needless to say..look what happened--I gained it back. I married in 1990 and was still very large. I had my wonderful son in 1999 and lost 50 lbs with him only to gain it back plus some.

2 years ago I started thinking about gastric bypass but just could not do it. I struggled for about a year and a half until 2 of my dearest friends, that I go to church with, decided to have this done. As time past on I watched them loose so much weight and look so good that I said, "If they can do it, why can't I".

I have a very special friend(Tricia) who has encouraged me and prayed for me from day one. She is so special to me because she has stood by me through this whole process. When I had doubts---she was always positive. You cannot imagine the words of encouragement she gave me and is still giving. Also I have another very dear friend(Amy) who had also encouraged me from the very beginning and said if I do it she would too. She went to the seminar with me but she had prior surgery that postponed hers. Even though we did not get to have the surgery together, she has still stood by me through the whole process. Tricia has prayed for Amy and I and have had nothing to say but positive things. Amy will be having surgery after the first of the years so everybody that reads this, please pray for her.

My family has been just unreal...I have the most WONDERFUL family anybody could have. They have been so good to me and so supportive. They have always been concerned about my weight because of so many things I can't do. I could not go to the show or theatre's or not many places because of my size. I could not fit in the seats. Today's society has no consideration when it comes to big people.

My insurance company would not pay for my surgery because of an exclusion in the policy but because my dad, mom, and stepfather loves me so much and wants me to have a healthy life they paid for all of my surgery. I can never thank them enough for what they have given me. A NEW BEGINNING AND A WHOLE NEW LIFE.

My surgery and recovery went very well. I only had pain medicine the night of my surgery but no more since. It has been 9 days since my surgery and I am doing GREAT....The first week of my surgery I did not loose anything. I was thinking."OH MY...I AM GOING TO BE ONE THAT DOES NOT LOOSE NOTHING!!!!!" But that changed. I am 19 lbs. lighter.... I feel like a different person. This surgery has really made a difference in my life. You have a different outlook on food. My family can eat around me and it doesn't even bother me. I am not hungry.(Boy that's a switch!) But all is well.

I am 2 weeks post op and I have lost 25lbs. YEA!YEA!YEA! Well I was able to go back to work today(1/2 days). Pretty tired after about 5 hours. Everybody at work are so encouraging to me.They are just excited as I am about me loosing weight. I have a very special friend(Elaine) who had spent many, many hours on the internet trying to get my letters ready to provide to the insurance company's. Needless to say my insurance did not pay! But she will never know how much that meant to me.....She has inspired me from the beginning. Thank you ELAINE. I love you....I have so many special friends at work that has really encouraged me...Thank ya'll for being there for me!!!!

I DID IT!!!!! I BROKE 400LBS......NEVER TO SEE IT AGAIN!!!!!!!! Today I weighed 399lbs.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I can't believe it. I have not been under 400 pounds in years.....I am doing great...

Well, I am 3 weeks post op and I have lost 30lbs. I am so excited. I have done really well, I feel like a different person. I have so much energy until the end of the day and then I get really tired. But other than that I am doing great. You can see a picture at the bottom of my profile 30 lbs. lighter.

Today is my 1 month post op and I am at a stand still.  I have lost 32 lbs. and 15 1/2 inches.  I am very proud of my weight loss even though I am not happy about the stall...I understand that this too shall pass.  I am really doing very well.  I try to walk a mile and a half everyday.

I'm at the end of my 5th week post op and I have lost 41 lbs.  I already feel like a different person.  Last might was the first time I have been able to walk 2 miles in 30 minutes. I DID IT...I have lost a total of 22 1/2 inches.  I have gone from a size 5X to a size 3X.  Everything is lovely.

My 6 week post op Dr. Appt and guess what???? 47 lbs lost.  He was so proud of me and I was so proud of myself.  Now I get to start eating real food.  I am kind of scared but I am looking forward to trying new things. I also started doing the " Walk Away the Pound" video.  This has really helped with loosing inches....

Well I hit my 2 month mark and I have lost 60 lbs.  I am doing wonderful and I am so excited that I have done so well.  I never thought in my life that I would ever loose weight again because I had lost hope.  I am experiencing new foods and it has been a challenge to see what I can tolerate now and what I can't.

Well I have had a slow week, but that is OK.  I have only lost 2 more pounds but I am proud of every pound I loose, because that is one less pound that I will never see again.

I DID IT!! I DID IT!! I DID IT!!  I broke the 70 lb mark.  YEA!!!! I am now 71 lbs. lighter.....Never to see 355 lbs again...Doing great.  I have lost a total of 32 inches in 10 weeks.

WELLLLL!!!!!!! It has been  3 months since my surgery and I have done tremendously well.....I have lost 77lbs. and 32 inches total.  I can not believe that I will never see 350 lbs again...GONE FOREVER!!!!!!

Well, It has been 4 months since my surgery and I am doing SUPER..I have lost 94 lbs and 42 1/2 inches.  I go back to the doctor Monday for my 4 month checkup.  I feel like a different person.  I cannot explain how much better I feel and how much energy I have now.  I am posting a new picture.....Check it out!!!!!!

Well...I went for my 4 month check up and I DID IT.......I LOST 100 LBS.  Dr. Babineau's nurse was totally surprised.  Everybody could not believe how much I had lost.  I'm having a hard time believing it myself.  I am doing just GREAT.....

I am doing great.  I have lost 136 lbs and 61 1/2 inches.  I have gone from a size 5 and 6X to 26W/28W.  I am so excited about what I have accomplished.  I can't wait to get the rest off and have my plastic surgery then start living a life I have never got to live.

Well I am 8 months out and I have lost 155 lbs and 66.5 inches.  I am doing so great.  It has really changed my life and also how people respond to me.  I was wearing sixe 5X and now I am in 22/24.  My son  thinks mommy is wonderful now because I can run and play with him.  I am so bless to have had a perfect surgery.  I have had no complications or problems.
