Five Month's Ago Today

Exactly five month's ago today I had surgery. And I believe it was the best decision of my life. I became a bandster. It was my 54th birthday present to myself. I am down from 60 lbs. and have many NSV. Although I have a long way to go I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

My Story

Hello my name is Maxie and my story began in 1990 when I was going to start a healthier lifestyle by quitting smoking. Well would'nt you know it I gave up one addiction for another FOOD & SODA, Well here I am 22 years later and 167 lbs. heavier. OMG why did it take so long for me to come to my senses? Don't get me wrong like most I have tried just about everything Jenny Craig, WW, LA Weight Loss, Nutra Systems. I'm sure there are others that I just can't remember.

Well finally my body told me that I wasn't going to keep my health if I continued on the road I was on. I went to my Dr. the scale registered 292 lbs. Blood pressure 148 over 98 and that's with meds. My knees and feet killing me, breathless and just plain feeling like crap. My body feeling like it is twenty years older than it actually is.

And then I feel like I had an intervention so to speak. A family member came to visit December 2011. The last time I seen her was over three  years ago and she was just starting her jouney with the lap band. What a difference those year have made. She was glowing with health and happy with her decision and down 140 lbs. After spending the day with her and listening to her story. I knew that I had found the right option for me,

And this is where my story began...
