Surgeon TestimonialJonathan H. Ray, MD, FACSMy first impression of Dr Ray was that I was so pleased that he is a very spiritual man. I love that he prays with his patients before they leave his office. He gives all his praise to God for giving him the knowledge to be the wonderful surgeon that he is. There was nothing that I did not like about Dr. Ray he is a very kind & understanding man. He genuinely cares about his patients. He has a very good bedside manner. He does what is best for his patients to keep them safe & to give them a healthy, happy recovery. I would refer anyone to him. He was a true God send for me.

Hi my name is Missy, I live in Tennessee. I'm married, have no children but would love to have a house full. I've been married for 20 yrs, this coming Feb. 26th 2007. I've had all kinds of battles with my weight. I started gaining weight when I got married & have tried numerous diets to lose weight, but have always gained my weight back & then some. My highest weight was 313. I'm diabetic, have high blood pressure, & sleep apnea as well as joint pain. I have also been diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom), & Endometreosis. That explains why I have no children as of yet. I'm not giving up though. I've been trying for 15 yrs but I know that God will give us at least one child. All in His timing. I love talking to people & anyone who would like to talk to me, please just email me. I want to make new friends & hope that I can help someone down the line some where. God bless you all. Missy
Lapband fill on July 18, 2007 5:59 pm
Well I've had another fill, I have 10 cc's now, And I've lost 50 lbs. But I can't help but wander if I shouldn't have lost more since Feb, to me it just doesn't seem like much. Anyway, I've really had a hard time here lately. I started a new job & all I've wanted to do is stress eat.And on top of that I'm thinking gosh I must have had a huge stomach to hold 10 cc's & still be able to eat, to me what it seems like to much. I shouldn't be able to hold hardly anything should I? If anyone has any input on this please let me know, I need all the help I can get. Thanks for everything, everybody...

2nd Band Fill on April 19, 2007 5:37 pm
Well I had my 2nd fill on 04/18/07. The Dr. put in 2.5 cc's, for a total of 7.5 cc's. Right now I'm on the liquid diet, you all know how rough that is.. Please keep me in your prayers. I'm hoping that with better restriction I will start to lose a little better. And with ALOT more exercise. I'm hoping I can work my butt off literally lol.. Anyway that's about all I have for now. You all are in my prayers, please remember me..
God Bless, Missy

2 months PostOp on April 7, 2007 8:23 am
Well today is April 7, 07. It's been 2 months since surgery, I've lost 32 pounds & I'm at a stand still. It's driving me crazy. I've had one fill & it's like my friend Sandy said, that I would probably feel like I did before I had the first fill. And I do. There's times that I feel like I can eat everything in my sight. I hope this is normal, I feel like a pig. Even after the surgery & all, I still have this huge "need" to eat EVERYTHING.. Anyway please keep me in your prayers. I go on the 18th to get my second fill, I just wish that I could get to the perfect fill now instead of later, that's a big problem for me, I'm inpatient.. But until next time, please pray for me. And I'll try to update better than I have. And I wanted to also say thanks for all the help & encouraging words to all of my bandster friends as well as thoughs who have had other WLS's. Good luck to you all & if I can help with anything please give me a yell.

LapBand Surgery on February 24, 2007 10:19 am
Well it took from Dec 5th 2006 until Jan 5th 2006 to get my surgery approved by Genworth Ins, it probably would have took longer but it was approved due to my pre existing health problems. My surgery was scheduled for Feb 5th 2007. I got through the surgery ok. Except for the anesthesia part of it, I always get sick after being put to sleep. But other than that I've done ok. I had to lose 13 pounds before surgery because of my liver being enlarged. But today is Feb 24th & I've lost 25 pounds, my incisions are almost healed. I don't go for my first fill until March 21st & I already feel so hungry. I wish I could get it filled now. I hope this is normal. It feels like I've not had surgery, just like I could eat like before. Eating was my favorite thing to do. I ate when I was mad, sad, happy, depressed. I guess you could say food felt like my best friend, when in reality it was my enemy.
