Surgeon Testimonial

Timothy V. Chavis, M.D.
I met with Dr. Chavis and I was very impressed with him. He seems to be a caring doctor and he answered my questions truthfully. I have heard wonderful things about him anyway and I was told by one of his gastric bypass patient that he had wonderful bedside manners and he made sure that you are treated with the up most respect while in the hospital.

on March 9, 2010 11:36 am
Hello Oh family. Well it's been 3 years since my surgery. Where has the time gone? My weight fluctuates back and forth. I'm still wearing 16's and still feel pretty good about myself. I just need to really get focused and finish this process. I did lose weight when i came on and asked for advice about amonth ago and thanks for all the support you all gave me. I will be 40 in june and i want to at least halfway reach my goal. My goal is to lose 70 pounds but i will settle for 35. That will get me under 200 pounds. So oh family just keep me in your prayers!!!!!!!!!

"I'm Back Oh family!"
on January 25, 2010 10:54 am
Hello Oh family. Wow It's been  6 months since i was on here. Wow!!!!!!!! That's awful. well not much has happened except for me gaining weight over the months. My restriction level is gone. I don't even have dumping anymore not like talking about it. I am thinking about having a revision(Rose) done. My husband is not too thrilled about it but i know it won't be invasive like the other surgery was. Stress has played a key factor in my weight gain. Going thru alot of problems that God has brought me out of. Husband finally got his disability after 4 years which is a huge blessing. So i don't know what to do. Just please keep me in your prayers. I miss coming on here cause you all were inspirational to me and i'm going to start coming back just for support. I need it yall. Until next time be blessed.

Hello OH family!

Hello Oh family. OMG!!!!!!!! I have been gone for a minute. Hope everyone is doing well. I've been very blessed thus far. I'm still a work in progress but over all i'm so proud of what i have accomplished. I'm still stuck around 210-215. I've come to terms that i will probably stay in this area because i have been trying to get under 200 and i just can't. I'm still rocking my 14's and 16's but hey i'm happy. I have a shape now. I have people just commenting on me all the time. I'm 39 and i have people telling me that i look so much younger. I love being able to go in the stores and pick up a normal size. Now i sometimes still go to the woman's section but  i usually have to get a 14W but that beats having to buy a 28 or 30W. I can buy cute shoes now. I wear a 9 or 9 1/2 medium as to before the surgery i was wearing 10 1/2's or 11's wide on top of that and there are no cute shoes in those sizes.lol... so i have come along way. I thank God for my success and i'm going to continue to try and get under 200 but if i don't , then so be it. Now my only problem that i do have is all the loose skin. It drives me crazy. Even with me wearing a body suit it still hangs especially my back fat as i call it. So i'm really considering having something done about the skin. It's pretty bad to me anyway.lol... My arms, legs, stomach , breasts(which before surgery i was a 52DD now i'm a 42 or 44D). I just want them things lifted or something i want to keep the size though.lol...  Well oh family i just wanted to say hello and that i haven't forgot about you. I have posted a couple of new pics so check it out. You all have a wonderful day and keep working your tools. I promise to do better on here. Before surgery i would read people's success stories and then i would wonder why they wouldn't keep up on  their journeys. Sad to say now i'm one of those people but i am going to do better. I miss talking to alot of my oh friends. Take care and be blessed.

My Story

My name is Michelle and I am 36 years old. I am married with 4 wonderful children who's ages are 18,14,7&5. the 2 older ones are my stepsons who I love dearly. Then there's my 2 babies who I have spoiled. I have been overweight everysince I was a teenager and my weight progressed into adulthood. After I had both of my children, my weight skyrocketed. When I first started this journey, I was at my highest weight of 330 lbs. During this summer, we had a Carnival to come to my hometown. I'm seeing all these "healthy" people getting on the rides and I decided that I was going to get on the ride too with my daughter. I was thinking in my mind that they were bigger than me or I was about the same size and if they could get on it, then I could too. Well needless to say I got on the ride and the bar wouldn't close over my stomach. The attendant was nice and tried to pull the bar down hisself and when he gave me "the look" I knew that I had to get off. I found a teenager to ride with my daughter as I stood back looking and embarassed. I knew from that point that something had to be done. I have a few friends who had the surgery and they all said that their lives have changed and you know what I am ready for a change.
