Surgeon Testimonial

Timothy V. Chavis, M.D.
I met with Dr. Chavis and I was very impressed with him. He seems to be a caring doctor and he answered my questions truthfully. I have heard wonderful things about him anyway and I was told by one of his gastric bypass patient that he had wonderful bedside manners and he made sure that you are treated with the up most respect while in the hospital.

4 1/2 WEEKS POST OP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
on April 19, 2007 7:18 pm
.Hello everyone It's been a minute since I posted so I thought while I had a minute that I would. I am 4 1/2 weeks post op and feeling great. I went to the doctor yesterday and he was soooo amazed at my progress. His scale had me weighing 260 where as my scale had me weighing 257. I like mine better but anyway he was so impressed with me that he actually had me blushing lol!!!!  He told me that I have already lost 30% of my body weight  and he told me to keep on doing what I'm doing because it seems to be working very well. I have been getting sooo many compliments and I have also encouraged a few of my friends who are looking into having gastric bypass. I am wearing 22's now the 24's are too big for me. I never thought that I would be wearing a 22. It's been 6 years since I have been this size. And it feels great to try on clothes that are tooooooooooooooo big for you lol!!!!!!!!!!  For years my clothes have always been toooo tight. I can wear an XL shirt now but I still like my shirts to be big on me so I am wearing 2XL shirts. I have always worn 3XL-4XL and if available a 5XL. I have dropped a shoe size which has been unreal and my ankles and hands have shrunk lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I went to church Sunday and I had my rings on. Well needless to say by me losing weight in my hands one of my rings slipped off and I didn't even know it until they made an announcement that they found a ring and when I looked down at my hands I realized that it was mine. So now I'm going to have to buy ring guards to keep my rings on my fingers lol!!!!!!!!!!  I know that I still have a long way to go but I am just so happy right now. I took pictures during easter and my sister is suppose to put them on here for me so when I can get the fire lit under her then I will be posting pictures. I wanted to say that I love my 2 sisters who have been there for me everysince my journey started and they have been there for me through thick and thin. I am going through somethings right now and it's a blessing when you have people that care for you and show there love anyway possible. Those 2 wonderful ladies are Velda B and Tamara A. Love ya girls and I couldn't do this without you. My sis Velda is going through somethings and we just need to lift her up in our prayers. Also I know that everyone has heard about the devasting killings here in Blacksburg, Va at Virginia Tech. I live just 25-30 minutes from where that shooting took place. It has just devasted the whole community. My choir director at my church works there as well as close family and friends. Please keep us in your prayers. And if it's possible the governor of our state (VA) is declaring  that tomorrow be an orange and marroon day which is the school's colors. So if anyone wants to show support by wearing these colors tomorrow, we would all appreciate it. Well I better close for now. I will update again soon. Take care and Be Blessed!

3 1/2 WEEKS POST OP!!!!!!!!!!!
on April 4, 2007 3:08 pm
Hello everyone. I haven't posted in a minute so I thought I would update briefly. I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and I am weighing 264. That is a 32 pound weight loss since my surgery and a 66 pound weight loss in all. I feel sooooo good. I have so much energy and I have been walking about a hour a day and loving every minute of it. I never thought that I would enjoy exercising. I can't wait until I can do more. I am doing well with my protein and food intake. The only thing that I am still having trouble with is my liquid intake. I am on stage 3 now and I am getting just about all of my protein through my foods. I usually have 1 protein shake a day and then after that it seems that I can't drink all of  the liquids that I need. I usually get in  between 40 -50 oz a day and I know that's not enough. Any suggestions? I will be posting new pictures of me soon so you all can see the new me. Until next time take care and Be Blessed!
