HELLO OH FAMILY!

Hello Oh family!  Well i'm back. from Des Moines, Iowa. I was there from last thursday March 13 -17th. Didn't want to come back because i had such a good time with my OH sister Velda B. Yall she is the "bomb". We had a ball. First time going to Iowa and i must say that the people there are soooo nice and friendly. Velda had a party for us to celebrate our 1 year surgiversary together and her family and friends are a mess. We had such a good time cutting up, laughing and eating. Velda can cook her butt off yall.  For the party we had, Fried Turkey, smoked Turkey, grilled cabbage, grilled corn, macaroni and cheese, potato salad and for desert her 15 year old made 2 cakes, one was a strawberry cake and the other was a lemon cake which were so moist. Oh boy went old school.  He didn't use a mixer, he beat the cakes by hand and i think that's why they were so moist and delicious.I made a Lemon pound cake. We just had such a good time. I went on Friday to "spin class" with Velda and i give her and the other women their props. I don't see how they do it. The spin instructor is a trip. Little thing weigh about 100 pounds and was working it. Her name is Dina. She is sooo sweet too. She came to the party and we had a ball with her. She made a dish called "Corn S***" You fill in the blanks. But it was the bomb. They gave me gifts and like i said were soooo nice. They better watch out, a sista from VA maybe moving to Iowa.  Velda opened her home and it by the way is beautiful and her family just showed me sooo much love.  I really enjoyed being with her. People at the party said that they never would of thought that we met by internet because we act like we have known each other all our lives and that's how i feel. She 's my girl. Love her to death.  The plane ride was awesome. i would do it again in a heartbeat. Loved it.  Well OH i better go. Thank God it's friday and i'm ready to get out of here. HELLO OH FAMILY!

Hello OH family! Just a quick line to say hi and that i'm on my way to see my OH sister Velda B. tomorrow. I am soooo excited! First time on an airplane but i know that My God will take care of me. I'm heading to the Midwest, Iowa to be exact and i can't wait to see the sights. I've been to Missouri but that was back in 1985 and i was only 15. My brother graduated from  basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood Missouri. So needless to say i slept the whole way there and don't remember the trip at all. I can't wait to meet my sister. It's going to be emotional for me. She has been my rock and my strength during my journey!  Anywho, Oh i will update once i get back next week and let you all know how things went especially the plane ride.LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm free, No Husband or Kids So until next time take care and be blessed!

HAPPY ONE YEAR SURGIVERSARY TO ME!

Hello OH family. Yesterday was my one year Surgiversary!. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. It just seem like i was researching about having this surgery and here i am one year post op. I'm not were i want to be but Thank God i'm not were  i use to be which was over 330 pounds. God has truly been good to me. It's just unreal with the comments that i get when i see people who i haven't seen in years or just even a year ago.  Went to a birthday party Saturday for my pastor's mom who by the way turned a youthful 88!  And there were alot of people who haven't seen me since i had the surgery. You would of thought the party was for me. I was blushing from ear to ear with all the comments of how i look. I tell you, it's something not to be the joke of the party. What i mean by that is i was always talked about as far as my weight. i would always get " You have a beautiful face" and that was it. Or " My God, how much bigger are you going to get"? I even remember one person telling me " What happened"? Which was very offensive. At the party one of the grandchildren who i grew up with was helping to serve the food and she's overweight. Well i heard people commenting about her saying She needs to lose weight and she's a pretty girl but my has she let herself go.  People can be so cruel. Last Tuesday which was the day b4 my sister in law had her surgery, she was sitting at a red light coming to meet me and this couple pulled up beside her. The girl in the car sitting next to him was just as big as she was but anywho, the guy rolled down his window and made a "MOO" sound to my sister in law. It hurt her to her heart. Why are people so ignorant?  I'm sure he wouldn't have liked it if someone did that to her so what gave him the right to do it. So we are definately living in a cruel world. And what gets me is people trying to convince me  not to lose anymore weight. I think you will look funny if you keep getting smaller or you'll look sick and like a crackhead. And i keep trying to stress that i didn't do it for anyone but myself and my children so that their mommy could be around for them.  Anywho, as i mentioned on my last blog, i'm leaving in a couple of days to go and visit my OH sister in Des Moines, Iowa. I'm soooo excited i can hardly stand it.LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We're going to celebrate our one year surgiversary together. Her one year will be the 19th of this month.  Never been on a plane b4 and haven't been that far Midwest in along time so i'm nervous and excited!!!!  We have waited sooooo long to see each other and now the time has finally come. I will definately blog once i get back which will be next Monday and let you all know how my trip went.  Well OH family I better get off and do some work. Well Hello Oh family! It's been a minute since i last updated. Things are still the same give or take a few pounds. I'm still very pleased with my progress. My weightloss has slowed significantly but God is good and i have had sooo many "WOW "moments and wonderful feedback from people who have not seen me in years, it's just sooo amazing.  I tell ya a sista is blushing all the time.LOL!!!!!!!!!  And of course you get the ones who tell you not to lose anymore weight or you're going to look sick or like a crackhead. I'm like you know what i didn't lose the weight for these people. I lost it for me and my health.  And when i tell people that i'm still 200 pounds they don't believe me. I should know what i weigh. And Yall the HATERS are unbelievable aren't they?LOL!!!!!!!!!!!  And i hate to say this but some of the haters are our OH family!!!!!!!!!!!  You know i was telling 2 of my OH sisters that we all are in this together and we suppose to be supporting one another on our journeys. Some of us are losing faster than others and some of us have hit a plateau. Some of us have hit our goals  and some of us are not close at all but we need to support each other and don't be worrying about what size she's in and how did she pass me and so forth. We all decided to make a change in our lives to better ourselves and to save our lives regardless of which surgery we had or how long it did or did not take to hit our goals. I had one of my OH friends to tell me b4 i had the surgery that it took you years to put the weight on and it's going to take you a while to get it off. So let's encourage one another. We go thru enough crap from the outside world viewing us and wondering why we took these measures to lose  weight . anywho, I wanted to let you all know that i'm going to see one of my OH sister's Velda B. in Des Moines, Iowa on next thursday March 13th. Yall (ok i am a country girl )i am sooooo excited i can hardly stand it. First of all this is my 1st time on an airplane and second of all we finally get to meet. Yall the 2 of us are sooo much alike that you would really think that we are sisters. We have known each other over a year and this is our first time in seeing each other. I know it's going to be emotional. I'm a big cry baby anyways.LOL!!!!!!!!!!  But she has been my rock  and my support thru thick and thin and i'm just estactic( trying to get proper now) to see her.  So keep me in your prayers as i travel (a little nervous about the plane ride).  also my soon to be sister in law is having her gastric bypass in the morning. She's IKESMOM on obesity but her real name is Crystal so please keep her in your prayers as she joins us on the loser's bench. Well OH i better go and get some work done.
