my neck has gone from 16" to 14.5

Dreaming of Sweets
on September 23, 2010 7:52 am
September 22, 2010

....Literally.  I dreamt of sweets.  Candy, cookies, cake, cupcakes.  Thankfully, when I'm awake I've not been super tempted to eat anything sweet.

I don't miss food like I thought I might.  Hooray.  Maybe after months and months of not being able to eat whatever, I might miss it, but I am enjoying losing weight, so I'll keep at it.  Hopefully in a year, I'll still be in the same boat.

Wii says I'm fat

Wii Fit still says I'm obese (and makes a sad sound), but hey, I've lost just about 50 pounds in just over 6 weeks so I don't really care.

I'm not totally craving a bunch of foods, and I don't feel like I'm missing out on much because I'm taking fabs of real food here and there (alright, I WAS craving a bite of the peanut butter s'mores bar that the baker made the other day -- but I digress).

I'm trying hard to exercise regularly -- am getting a trainer to show me how to use weights tomorrow.  Eeeks.

Danbury Hospital
on September 16, 2010 7:50 pm
After going to our huge monthly support group, I thought that it might be nice to actually have an on-line group for those who have had surgery at Danbury Hospital.  It will make it a little more personal, and who knows, maybe we can start to meet one another.

I'm working on a simple website (hopefully it will be quicker than OH), but in the meantime:

Here's the listserv:

45 pounds, and down one size?
on September 15, 2010 5:30 am
September 15, 2010

After losing something like 45 pounds, one would think that you'd go down at least a few sizes.   But for larger gals like me, I have a lot of shorts and pants with elastic waists (ah, the comfort of it all!)  -- so, for the most part, they still fit.

And for the pants that have no elastic waists, they are officially belt-worthy.  Still, my guess is that I might have really been pushing a 28 but still shoving myself into a 26.  Funny what we grab onto when we're large.
