I hated photos because they made me look larger than I felt.  

I'm ok with photos now, and just uploaded a picture of me with my wife, playing on Photo Booth.  

Hard to believe the before and after shots.  Cringed at the before shots.  So weird that I was that large just 6 months ago (274).  I weigh about 165 now.  Still overweight, but feeling fine.  :)

Stress Eating

So.  I've found that I am, absolutely, a stress eater.  I didn't really think about it much before surgery, but it is now confirmed:  deadlines?  EAT EAT EAT! 

Carbs! 
Nuts! 
Pretzels and hummus!
Chocolate-y-like items...(ie calcium chew or protein bar)

These things help me feel like I will function better.  carrots just don't cut it.    :)

I feel like I MUST give in to the need for my sanity.  What's that about?  Evolutionary reasons?

Still, I try to make good choices.  Get up from my computer...jump around in the hallway (literally).  I like how far I have come and don't want to jeopardize returning to the old me.   I am just pounds away from being in the "normal" range for weight -- goal!   

What do you do when you get stressed?

6.2 pounds away from being not overweight
11.2 pounds from goal


I feel like I'm eating too much -- nuts, anyone? -- but it's still coming off, for which I'm thankful (and surprised -- I thought when i weighed myself today that I may have gained weight.)

I have bones.

A month or so ago, I felt something.  Strange.  Was that a ... hip bone? 

Wait.  What's that?  Ribs?  

Hold on.  A Clavical?  

Things have definitely changed in my life.  I haven't seen a bone in years and years and years.  Kinda cool!  I feel ... normal.  

But life is not always so peachy:  I've been stressed out for the pass few days with working/volunteering/class.  And, as such, I had my first stress eating -- an old habit!  Sit at the computer, try to keep up with the nuttiness of the stress and all that needs to be done -- and I need to EAT EAT EAT.  I tried some grapes.  Some carrots. Edameme.  Nuts... water, of course, and nothing really calmed my nerves down.  I have to figure out a game plan here because I can't ever possibly go back to where I was just 5 months (and over 100 pounds) ago.
