One Week Later...

Wow, got it all done and I think I'm doing ok! Getting about half or more of my protein in and doing good sipping water. The pain hasn't been that bad when I compare it to other surgeries that I've had. I've been getting up and trying little walks. I haven't had the big gas issue or shoulder pain issue, thank God.

I stayed at my son & his wife's place in Seattle for the first two days after getting out of Swedish, which was extra nice because they live so close to the hospital. Luckily, I didn't need that at all, but it was comforting to know I was close.

I'm starting to feel a little bit more like myself now, just can't do the stuff like normal. My daughter took my laundry to do for me and ran the vacuum yesterday. Dini the cat was pretty pissed off at me for being gone so long but it seems that all is forgiven and he's been at my side quite a bit and taking care to not walk or sleep on my stomach...good kitty.

I'm not hungry at all and have to remind myself to drink my shakes. I also am using proti-drink in my water so I can get more in that way.

They weighed me when I left the hospital and I was 18 pounds heavier than when I went in, which I thought was pretty funny. The excess seems to be coming off slowly but at least now I can at least see veins in my hands again!

So far, all is well! I don't regret my decision in the very least.
