Summer 2015 update

Aug 01, 2015

Hi guys!! :) well life is great but i will say this summer heat is really making my stomach SWELL!!!! ugh it sucks!!! no matter what i do, even if i do nothing all day i swell.

in other news i haven't worked out since surgery (though i tried) because i was swelling everytime i tried and i felt fat and bloated. so i stopped. i knew i needed something because i could see myself getting "fluffy" as my diet was off since surgery in march. in may i started intermittent fasting. it helped me alot. it was like a detox and i lost 10lbs in a month. but unfortunately because i was eating less calories i figured i could eat whatever i wanted. which was a bad idea. bc even though it was less calories, most of them were carbs and i found myself once again getting a PCOS flare up like i did last summer. i knew the signs and i acted FAST. i cut carbs and went to a low carb diet again. which needs to be my norm. i didn't go extreme LCHF (low carb high fat) like i did for 6 months last year just because i didn't feel it was necessary. i did it last year bc i had a goal to lose weight before my plastic surgery in march. i ended up building a lot of muscle and losing a lot of fat. i was working out every day including christmas and new years! i was SO determined. i'm so bummed that its taking so long to get back to where i was before surgery. i've been really desperately looking for SOMETHING.

i kept seeing a friend posting about THRIVE and i was like whatever. rolling my eyes. i HATE gimmicks bc as an overweight person i've been duped into buying shit my whole life. also i hate mid level marketing companies. but i kept seeing her posts about having so much energy. and i would see all her friends commenting asking about it then others commenting saying its been the best thing for them and THEY have all this energy. and its the energy thing that really got me interested. i'm a supplement whore. i spend tons of money at the vitamin shoppe buying all sorts of supplements from things that help me sleep to things that give me energy to things that help with anxiety to things that help with weight loss. you get the picture. i could show you a box i have full of pill bottles. between all the supplements and the vitamins i take daily i was taking like 8+ pills a day!!!! i got so sick of taking fucking PILLS!!! ugghhhh!!! anyway after like a month i just gave in and ordered a 7 day sample. at first i was like whatever, i didn't notice anything. not true, from day one i noticed a calmness. my anxiety was under control, i was more patient and focused, i was actually able to enjoy my 2yr old instead of getting super annoyed by him. but i didn't feel the energy everyone talks about. until day 4, when i stopped taking all my other vitamins. thats when i noticed a change in energy. it was explosive or anything like that. i just noticed i needed less caffeine than usual. and the more the days went on the more gradual the energy got. the vitamin thing is tricky because since we WLS patients need to take certain vitamins we have to kind of figure out a balance. i'm gonna get bloodwork done in sept. but for now i've decided to keep taking iron.

i also noticed that i was hardly hungry. i needed to eat less frequently. and i was drinking water and wanting water more often. which is something i was really struggling with. i hate plain water and its so hard for me to get my liquids in.

on day 5 of my sample i was hooked and ordered a month supply. things i noticed on thrive:

-more energy ( i hear the energy really starts to come at 4 weeks)

-mental clarity/focus, more patience, better mood, almost no anxiety (i used to be riddled with it)

-less hunger/less cravings, more water consumption

-better sleep, wake up easy

-the best thing of all is MOTIVATION. omg this has really given me the motivation i so desperately needed to workout again and eat better, drink more water and work on myself again. the energy and the help with the anxiety have been the 2 best things. i'm a better mommy. my son is happy bc i'm not cranky and yelling at him all the time. i sit and play with him.

i'm starting with cardio (walking) and yoga. i used to workout HARDCORE. i did the entire T25 program (alpha, beta, gamma) last year. and now i have lost all stamina, strength, flexibility and i have to start from scratch. but i WILL do it. i actually noticed that the thrive has made my arms and legs thin out a bit and i'm starting to see the definition i used to have. i'm so excited to see the changes that will come in the next month. i can't wait till my package comes in a few days!!!! i will keep you guys posted!!

if you have any questions or want to ask me anything about thrive let me know. i'm honest. i'm not gonna feed you bullshit. its really really worked for me and i'm so excited. its not for weightloss. gosh i should say that. its vitamins and probiotics and enzymes and basically all the supplements i was spending money on all rolled into 3 steps. even my husband who is skeptical and negative about EVERYTHING wants to try thrive. isn't that crazy? anyway i will update you guys :)
