Surgeon Testimonial

Jorge Acosta, MD
My surgery was done by Dr. Eldo Frezza. He turned out to be pretty bad. My insurance company assigned me to Dr. Acosta for follow-ups, and he is absolutely adorable. Much better care than my original surgeon, and nice looking to boot! ha ha. I feel lucky to have him!

Saturday Update
on October 24, 2009 9:28 am
I had a crazy weekend last weekend getting back from Jersey, so I never updated.  I can't remember what I weighed in at, but I think about the same as today, which was 154.  Not too bad.

I got myself dehydrated on my vacation, and haven't been good about catching up.  Once I got to the dehydrated stage my band tightened up quite a bit, and when it's like that, I don't get my fluids in like I should.  Catch 22.  I am on a mission to correct that now.  I think I am at my sweet spot, but it's hard to tell when I am not eating and drinking right.

Stress is still with me, but some issues in my life are moving forward, so I know that I am working towards resolving the stress.  That feels good, even though it can be painful to move forward.

I do know that I need to get back in to some kind of an exercise routine.  I quit my job at Walmart, and even though I am now working OT at my job, I still have more time to try and exercise now.  I can't wait for the rollercoaster to slow down, I have a feeling that it won't.

I Heart New Jersey!!
on October 14, 2009 8:56 am
I am still in New Jersey and loving every minute of it!!!

My weekend in NYC was FABULOUS!!!!  WOW!

My band has been behaving very well, I am so happy about that!!  I don't know if I have gained weight, lost or stayed the same since I haven't stepped on a scale.  I am not able to eat too much at a time, and have been horrible with drinking water.  However, I haven't had any reflux and haven't PB'd once!!    It feels like I am at my sweet spot, and I love it!!

I went to a Lap-Band support group last night.  It was great!!  I wish we had one like that where I live.  I felt like I was able to actually provide some helpful guidance even. ha ha

I have had the privelege to meet many people from OH on this trip!!  Such a great group of people!!  Love it!!!  I will be sad to go back home.

My Band Is Back!!!
on October 3, 2009 4:44 pm
I went down to El Paso on Thursday for my fill.  Dr. Acosta checked and said that the ER doc took almost all of my saline out!!  I knew it!  I could eat ANYTHING at all!  He was VERY pleased with my weightloss.  He said I had lost almost 15 pounds since seeing him mid-June.  That's with the weight that I have gained back this month, so not too shabby!

He filled me up CLOSE to where I was before all these problems.  I was so dang happy about that!!  However, now, I am feeling it might be a bit too tight again!  Oh no!!!   I ate very late last night and went to bed soon after.  I ate a very thick and creamy broccoli and cheese soup.  I had the reflux and throwing up again.  *sigh*  I sure hope my band isn't too damn tight!!  AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!   I don't want to have to drive all the way down to El Paso again........and I won't go to the ER, that's for sure!!!

I know that my body swells very easily, and that since Dr. Acosta drained the remaining fluid and put a lot back in, that is going to cause swelling.  Sooooo, trying to stick it out and be very gentle with myself.  Staying on liquids for a few extra days won't hurt anything.

I had gone back up to as high as 167 pounds during some points this last month, this morning I was back down to 158.  I don't think it wil take me long to get to my goal of 150!  Woooo Hoooo!!!  I am just worried at how tight I am.   Hopefully, that's just swelling from the fill.

I am very excited about my upcoming (less than a week now) trip to the Big Apple, and I don't want ANYTHING to screw this up!!
