My Story

So my story starts a few years ago in 2007, when i was working for this company in Virginia.  The owner of my company pulled me into his office and started to talk to me about WLS.  I was upset after this conversation, I now realize that he was being a crazy old gram pa that cared about his employees...maybe.  At that point in my life I wasn't ready to commit, I still thought i could do it on my own.  I moved Las Vegas a year later and started a new job.  Since I didn't know anybody in Vegas i found it some what easy to loose weight but then life started to crumble around me and my emotional eating started and my losing weight was on hold again.  It was then my 30th birthday and I heard on the radio a seminar for WLS at a local hospital so i signed up.  I talked with the surgeon and nurse and decided that this is what i wanted to do.  I spent the next 6 months going a doctors supervised weight loss program and doing all the dietary and psych consults required by my insurance.  I got my approval letter and on March 3 2011 my date was set for surgery.  On March 7 2011, I was let go from my job.  After some careful consideration, I didn't want to go through all what i worked for and decided to go through with the surgery and cobra my insurance.  While I was waiting to have surgery I was applying for jobs, not that i wanted to get one but to satisfy unemployment i started to apply and the first job I applied for I got on March 30th and they wanted  to me to start asap.  I explained that I had surgery planned for April 11 and would need some recovery time after wards.  Did i mention that my new job was in a new city and state.  My company waited for me and I started my new job on May 2, 3 weeks post op.  I was living in a hotel room for 2 weeks for training and then after that i would move to Sacramento CA.  It was very rough to live away from home for two weeks with out a kitchen and convinces of home.  The weekend between the weeks of training I had to go up to Sacramento to find a place to live.  I had one day to find a place to live and get a key to my new apartment so i can move in the following weekend.  The day I went apartment hunting I ended up eating something that did not agree with my new rerouted insides and was trying to get out of my system the entire day... One of the ladies thought i was pregnant because i kept running to the bathroom to throw up.  Oh, this was not a good day.  But it all worked out and i ended up moving the following weekend to Sacramento and on Monday starting my job in my new location.  A week later the movers came with all my furniture and I was able to relax and start loosing weight faster.  After this experience I feel like i can do anything.  I feel great now and I am slowly making new friends in this city.  The surgery was the best thing i have ever done...
